I didn't know what to tell him or how I would explain it to him. Yes, I promised Grandpa to protect our message, but now isn't the right time to confess about my pregnancy.
I was about to answer when the female doctor came in and almost announced my condition. Dr. Simmons was busy looking at my chart and she didn't even notice my husband's presence.
I was sweating really hard, praying that she would shut her mouth even for a second. "Mrs. Petersen, you are back, and you got very lucky. You and the ba–"
The heavens finally answered when she finally lifted her head to greet me and saw my husband with me. Dr. Simmons understood and quickly changed the end of the sentence.
