"True love prevails."
Kendra's POV
I was in trance and almost fell into this woman's trap. My right hand was ready to slice my left wrist just because of this woman's game.
Good thing I realized it before it was too late. I threw the knife on the table and her eyes were bewildered.
"What are you doing? We had a deal," she yelled at me.
"Too bad I won't stoop down to your level, Sandra. Because taking advantage of someone's feelings, say sympathy, is not love at all," I lectured her.
But she had her own logic so she disagreed, "Huh! You're so naive, how can a person love someone if there's no sympathy."
I shook my head and reasoned with her, "Yet, self-inflicted harm just to use another's sympathy isn't love. That's madness, an obsession."
Her face darkened and was looking for an answer to rebut when she noticed the changes on my face. Why not if I saw my husband coming to us?
