　　I quickly opened the front door and went inside. But, unfortunately, tonight did not go the way I imagined it would. But it wasn't as bad as I thought it would go, either.


　　After I got that phone call from Brent, I thought I'd be spending all night facing down on my pillow, sobbing my heart out. But instead, I had Evan threatening Brent with me as his accomplice. What kind of bizarre situation is this?


　　I never thought Evan was my friend or he even cared about me. But tonight felt different. It felt like he was protecting me, and it felt good. But maybe I was wrong. Maybe it was just a rare incident where Evan acted kindly towards me. Tomorrow we go back to our normal selves and he becomes a jerk again.


　　I thought about what he had said earlier, and it made me smile again. He probably didn't mean it at all, but hearing those words coming out of his mouth made me happy. I was in the pink clouds.
