CHAPTER 16 Say Goodnight

  I took her by the arm and dragged her to my car. When I saw her standing there watching Lily and me making out, I thought I saw sadness flicker in her eyes. I wanted to see if she was mad or jealous afterward, but she looked like she was having a good time with Mike.

  I watched them together, talking and laughing.

  Annie seemed a lot less stiff now that she was getting to know Mike. But then I heard Mike say that he liked her.

  What the hell? Since when?

  I didn't know what his type was but Annie? Why was he trying to ask Annie out? Annie and I were...

  I stopped thinking for a moment.

  Annie and I were...what?

  Did I like Annie?

  That can't be true. I tried to imagine myself with that little hamster and chucked to myself.

  But as I watched Mike flirting more with Annie, I was the one who got jealous. So I stormed in and dragged her away without saying goodbye to Mike or anyone else.

  Annie didn't protest and just went along.
