CHAPTER 24 More than Friends

  I sat on the bleachers next to Mike. It has only been fifteen minutes, and I'm already feeling uncomfortable. I didn't know how I would survive the entire game.

  "Are you okay?" Mike asked.

  "Yeah...I've never been to a game before, so this feels weird being here," I said and adjusted my glasses.

  "Don't worry, I'm right here. If you hate this, we can always leave," Mike said reassuringly.

  After a few more minutes, I was starting to feel better. Mike seemed to be really into the game, so I tried to focus on it.

  "Having fun?" I turned around, and my heart fluttered as Evan loomed over my shoulder.

  "Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked him.

  "The real question is, what are you doing here? This is not your scene," he said.

  "She is obviously hanging out with me, bro. I told you about this already. What are you doing here anyway? You don't like going to games," Mike interjected.

  "I am here for Annie," Evan said casually.
