CHAPTER 46.She Hurts You

  Annie

Evan didn't say much when I went on and on about going ice skating with Mike. It made me wonder if it bothered him to listen to me being all excited about a date.

But who else was I supposed to talk to about things?

At the end of our conversation, he didn't seem irritated at me, so maybe he didn't mind? I went home in a great mood.

I winced as I was welcomed by a sink full of dishes. Ugh, would it kill my mom to do the dishes for once? She treated me like I was her maid!

But there was no point in complaining because I was gifted with a hard slap on the cheek the last time I complained.

There were plates with remnants of last night's dinner, bowls with dried-up sauce, cups and glasses with rings of dried-up liquid, and utensils coated in hardened food particles.

  Disgusting.

I knew if I didn't clean them, my mom would blame me for the dirty sink, even though I barely ate anything to make this kind of mess!
