  Evan

I put my arm around Annie's shoulder and scooted her closer to me.

"What are you doing?" she whispered.

"I'm cuddling you. You have a fever, and the best cure for fever is cuddling," I said seriously.

Annie giggled. "What? You are making this up."

"I promise it's true. Come closer and transfer your heat into me for a fast cure," I said without laughing.

Annie rolled her eyes but still rested her head on my chest.

I was joking about the transferring heat thing, but I felt like I really was taking it all. She felt like a human furnace.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and comfort as I held her close. We sat there in silence for a while, just enjoying each other's company. I could feel her breathing slowly start to steady, and I knew that she was starting to feel better.

"Thank you," she whispered, breaking the silence.

"Anytime," I replied, giving her a gentle squeeze.
