Annie
I went to class as usual, then went back to my apartment. Sheila was still out, so I was going to be alone again. But it was okay since Evan promised to come over again. I smiled to myself. My heartbeat quickened as I thought about seeing him again.
I quickly tidied up the living room and made sure everything was perfect for him.
The clock ticked slowly, and as the minutes passed, I grew more and more restless. I kept checking my phone for any updates from Evan, hoping that he would arrive soon.

But my heart stopped when I saw who was standing in front of our apartment.
"So this is where you live huh? Big college girl. Good to see that you aren't as useless as you used to be," my mother said as I stood there staring at her.
