Emily sat in the visitors' chair of the doctor's office. Besides Lexi consoling her hours ago, she had left to attend to many urgent matters, leaving Emily alone.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Rosette, but I'm afraid that at this rate, we will have to begin treatment, and soon after that, we might have to think of much more effective measures," The doctor told her. But, as professional as he wanted to remain, Emily could still see that he was defeated just as much as she was.
"What kind of measures?" Emily stuttered as she asked the doctor. Not once had she taken her eyes off him since entering his office. She was fed up with all the lies; all she needed was the truth about her son's condition.
