Kaitlynn would lean up against the front seats as Mortimer began his drive again. Had he kept the lights on all it would do would reflect the fog. At least this way he could better see the kids in the closed off streets, but this time he proceeded slowly. He motioned his hand, urging Kaitlynn to continue.
“Right,” She sighed. “Well I think dad was concerned about the flooding. They think some bodies got out into the pipes again.”
“Flooding?” Leslie asked, looking towards the streets. “There isn’t much on this side of town, but nearly all of Gold Street was shin deep.”
Jon looked at the woman. “Knee deep for us short people.” Though Jon was a pleasantly average five-eight. The thought had Leslie grinning from ear to ear.
“Yeah,” Kaitlynn would take out her phone, waking the screen long enough to show the flood warnings around the area. “So he sent Charlie that way to see if you had problems coming down your end.”
