Never crossed the line

Jia Lu Li was stunned when she saw the happenings in front of her, she looked down at her slightly bulging belly and her eyes turned red. She was not a fan it was just really hard for her to lose weight with the hormonal problems that she had, while other girls could lose weight with the smallest amount of hard work, she had to put in twice the work.

And it was not like she was not dieting, today she did not eat anything for the entire day because she knew that she was eating out with her friends but who would have thought that her friends would selfishly take the one bowl of rice that she kept to herself and even call her fat ever so subtly.

Qi Qiao could actually see that Jia Lu Li was crying but she deliberately ignored it, if she was to say anything now wouldn't that mean that she had to return this bowl including the fatty piece of meat to Jia Lu Li? She did not want to do that! This was why she continued to ignore Jia Lu Li who had her head lowered while her shoulders trembled lightly as she lightly sobbed.

Seeing such a sight in front of them even Madam Tian was annoyed by the two girls who were making such a farce in her restaurant but she did not know the in and out of the matter which was why she could not say much lest she made a joke out of herself.

After all, if something like this happened to her and she was the one paying then she would have definitely not stayed silent. Seeing that Jia Lu Li was silent despite being called fat and even being bullied in such a subtle way that she could not eat what she wanted to eat, Madam Tian thought that the girl who was eating was the one who was paying for the meal seeing the pricey jacket that Qi Qiao was wearing.

In the end, Qi Qiao not only did she finish the bowl but she even burped in satisfaction only then she turned to look at Jia Lu Li who was crying and said in slight annoyance, "God what are you crying for? It's just a bowl of pork belly and rice, you can have it another time. Seriously, you are such a crybaby."

Jia Lu Li did not say anything, she only pursed her lips while biting her bottom lip. She wished she could ask Qi Qiao who was going to pay for that five yuan pork belly rice bowl but she did not instead she simply wiped her eyes by pressing the heels of her hands on her eyes and was ready to take her wallet out and pay the money when she heard a cold voice echo in her ears, " Here, your bill, are you going to pay it in cash or you will like to use coupons?"

" I——" Jia Lu Li was going to say that she was going to pay it in cash but when she raised her head, she was surprised to see that the waitress from earlier was handing the bill to Qi Qiao instead of her which surprised the three girls greatly.

" What…?" At first Qi Qiao was surprised by Xua Ying Yue's actions but then she snapped out of her surprise and said in a low voice, " I am not the one who is paying the bill, she is." She tipped her head at Jia Lu Li who was looking at Xua Ying Yue in slight surprise.

Xua Ying Yue raised her eyebrows a few inches before she turned to look at Jia Lu Li and muttered, " Oh, I see... forgive me. You were bossing her away so much that I mistook you as the one who was paying for the meal."

Her words caused a few customers to laugh even Zhou Zeming choked on the bite of the rice that he had taken, he did not expect that the cold girl who was not even willing to tell him, her name was actually so sharp-tongued when she wanted to deal with someone.

Qi Qiao saw the customers laughing at her but what made her face turn as red as a monkey's butt was Zou Zeming's laughter. She turned to look at the man to whom she was attracted and found him laughing with his wrist pressed against his mouth as his elbow rested on the edge of the table.

How can Qi Qiao withstand such a shame, she turned to look at Xua Ying Yue and glared at her before saying, " What do you mean by bossing around? What is it to you? Lu Li is shy she cannot order things without stuttering which is why I helped her and nothing else."

" The basic courtesy when ordering for someone who is paying for your meal is that you ask what they want and whether or not they are comfortable with the price and the dishes that are being ordered which you did not take care of, that's the reason I mistook the person who was paying for the meal and nothing else," Xua Ying Yue didn't change her tone nor did the expression on her face which was slightly dull and blank changed, she looked at Qi Qiao without even putting the latter in her eyes which further infuriated Qi Qiao.

' What is this? Is she looking down at me? Did she just say that I lack basic courtesy?' Qi Qiao clenched her fingers in her lap as she glared at Xua Ying Yue, this was the first time she had seen anyone rebutting her, why did this woman even care? Should she not be happy with the pay she was going to get? Why was she playing the saviour all of a sudden?

But Qi Qiao still suppressed her anger when she saw that Zou Zeming was looking at her and then turned to look at Jia Lu Li before she raised her voice and deliberately gave Jia Lu Li a look, " Are you sure that I made things difficult for you, Lu Li? Tell this waitress that I am your friend and I never crossed the line."
