Give and take

Xua Ying Yue felt water drip down her face and hair, even though the water that Qi Qiao threw at her was hot because of the chill which was creeping up in the air of the winter, the water soon turned cold within seconds bringing no such harm to her.

" Yue'er!" Xua Yenay however did not think that getting water thrown at was something small, after seeing the tragic experience that her sister had to go through Xua Yenay was getting more and more paranoid. If not for the fact that Xua Ying Yue would never allow her to lock her up in a room, Xua Yenay would have never let her out.

She rushed over to where her sister was standing and hurriedly examined Xua Ying Yue from top to bottom. Though Xua Ying Yue was fine, her bandages were wet from the water that was thrown at her, and even the jacket was donned by Xua Ying Yue was covered with splotches of water, seeing her sister's bedraggled appearance, Xua Yenay was really angry.

" What are you doing? How dare you throw water at her like that?" Xua Yenay shouted at the girl who was not only shameful enough to bully an innocent girl whom she gaslighted into buying her a meal but now that she was caught, she was shameless enough to hurt her sister as well! How despicable!

" What? Are you going to yell at me now?" Qi Qiao turned to look at Xua Yenay who was yelling at her, she did not look scared if anything she looked insolent. With a raise of her brow and an arrogant look in her eyes, she looked at Xua Yenay who was dressed in old clothes that were washed too many times and had faded out. " Instead of yelling at me, you should be teaching your insolent sister that she should know when to keep her nose out of other business."

" Fine, I asked her to pay for this meal, so what? I returned her by paying her with my company. Do you think anyone would like to stay friends with her? She is pompous, and arrogant and continuously likes to show off her money —— if that is the only good thing that she has what's wrong with using it? Do you even know how annoying and hard it is to listen to her? And it's not like I am asking her to pay for me, she is the one who likes to stick with me even when I tell her not to —— so who is the one at fault?"

Jia Lu Li felt her heart break a little when she heard Qi Qiao's words, she had sincerely considered the three of them as friends but looks like she was the only one who was foolish enough to think that the three of them were friends, in fact, they were nothing as such.

She was a foolish monkey and these were her tamers who would throw their affection and friendship in front of her and watch her dance to their tune.

Tears flooded her eyes as she looked at Qi Qiao who was looking at Xua Ying Yue and her sister proudly. There was no guilt or regret on her face in fact she seemed to be acting as if she had done nothing wrong.

Xua Ying Yue raised her head and then wiped the strands of her hair which was sticking to her forehead, only then did she raise her gaze and looked at Qi Qiao who was looking a bit too proud. Seeing that arrogant face reminded her of Lu Biya, her brows twitched a little as one word flashed in her head —— annoying.

" You see this?" She pointed to her dripping hair and clothes as she pointed to herself and turned to look at Jia Lu Li who was stunned by her question which she suddenly ask her but the latter still nodded. When Xua Ying Yue saw that Jia Lu Li had nodded, she opened her mouth and said, " This is what one call give."

Then she stretched out her hand and caught hold of the jug which was sitting on the wooden table and then caught its handle with the curl of her fingers causing Qi Qiao's expression to change.

The young woman seemed to have understood what Xua Ying Yue was going to do which was why she opened her mouth to say something but she was a step too late, as Xua Ying Yue had already lifted the jug and splashed the water on her face.

Qi Qiao still managed to cover her face with her hands but she only managed to cover her face and nothing else. Her hair along with her clothes and everything else was soaking wet what was more because the water-filled jug had a lot of water left inside it, she was currently looking like she had stepped out of a pond.

" And … this is called take," drawled Xua Ying Yue as she placed the jug on the table heavily before continuing to speak coldly. " A relationship whether friends or lovers is built on the bridge of give and take, only when these two are equally balanced, will you feel satisfied." She turned her head and looked at Jia Lu Li who was sitting beside her before asking, " Do you feel satisfied?"

Jia Lu Li looked at Qi Qiao who was looking like a wet dog and nodded her head with her mouth still agape. She had never thought that one day something like this would take place and what was more, she did not even feel wronged on account of Qi Qiao if anything she thought that Qi Qiao deserved this!

She was indeed very satisfied, no wonder she felt uncomfortable after each treat, this was why!

" You.." Qi Qiao was so angry that she was spewing fire, she looked at Xua Ying Yue and then turned to look at Xua Ying Yue. This time instead of throwing water at the latter, she raised her hand and was prepared to give Xua Ying Yue a tight slap when her hand was caught by a sturdy hand.
