A regardful message

Xua Ying Yue glanced at the man who was now walking away with a small curl of her lips, she clicked another picture just in case she needed it in the future and this time she was able to snap the face of the man as well as the staff room's board, she did not want to make a mistake and be blamed for making something up when there was nothing.

Once she was done snapping the pictures, she turned her phone off and then threw it in the small gap under her desk's surface before turning to face the front where the middle-aged woman who seemed to be in her forties was introducing herself.

The head professor who was in charge of their batch was named Yu Huang, she seemed to be a gentle lady with the way she spoke but Xua Ying Yue could notice the flickering gaze of the woman who was taking in the possessions of the students who were sitting in front of her from the looks of it one could see that she was taking a good look at whom she could offend and whom she could not, Xua Ying Yue found it amusing as she sat silently in the corner.

Looks like everyone, no matter what age feared power.

Because she did not want the head professor to see her smile which was mocking her, she lowered her head and did not raise her head. Once Professor Yu was done with her introduction, she clapped her hands and then smiled at the children who were sitting in front of her with a benevolent look on her face,

" Now that you are all in college, I hope that you will pay more attention to your studies and no longer bother with useless things. College is the transition step between adulthood and adolescence, make as much use of this period and become a decent and hard-working citizen of this country, all right?"

Her words were followed by clapping as the students in the classroom raised their hands and made promises of fulfilling their duties, Xua Ying Yue also raised her hands and clapped alongside the rest as her eyes fell on Qi Qiao who was among the very few students who were shouting about how they are going to become a successful person in the future.

The clapping did not stop for a long time and once it was over, Professor Yu started teaching the class. As she taught Professor Yu continued to look at the students, when she was given the responsibility to take care of this class she had taken a look at their admission form and knew that the top scorer of the science department from the S city was also admitted to her class.

Though she only took a quick glance, she knew the face of the student which was why she was confident that she will recognise Xua Ying Yue in one glance. Professor Yu believed that the girl who scored such high grades would be sitting in the first row but when she did not find Xua Ying Yue, she could not help but frown.

Was she in the second row? Professor Yu thought as she continued to skim through the many students and finally, when her gaze fell on Xua Ying Yue, she was speechless to find that the latter was sitting at the very end of the class.

Xua Ying Yue who sensed that someone was looking at her raised her head only to find Professor Yu smiling at her with a kind look on her face.

When Xua Ying Yue saw Professor Yu's smile, she nodded in response before she lowered her head again and continued writing notes. Seeing Xua Ying Yue taking notes so attentively, Professor Yu was impressed and nodded to herself but what the two did not notice was that in between the two of them sat Qi Qiao who thought that she was the one being praised and beamed proudly.

After the class was over, everyone who was willing to hear was stopped by Qi Qiao who not so subtly mentioned that her grades in high school were good enough to enter the top then which was why Professor Yu was willing to take a good look at her.

The other students were impressed by Qi Qiao's remarks, they were after all at that age where they were curious and assessing. Xua Ying Yue heard the remarks which were spoken by Qi Qiao and did not comment, if someone wanted to embarrass themselves what can she even do about it?

She left the classroom and then headed to the academic affairs officer where she bought a new set of textbooks, since she was intending to take an extra computer class program it took a while for her to return and when she returned to the class, she was surprised to find that the rest of the class seemed to have left at a certain point.

This did not bother her, what bothered her was the fact that when she looked at the desk where she was sitting, she found that her things were moved. An annoyed grimace decorated her face as she walked towards the desk and leaned it down, and no sooner did she do that, she noticed a pool of dirty water form on the ground.

It was a good thing that she took her phone with her or else it would have been deemed unfit for use because of this small 'prank' which was played on her.

Xua Ying Yue raised her head and looked at the pair of eyes which was looking at her from behind the door and furrowed her brows coldly. Even though the person who was hiding behind the door was quick to hide, she did not miss the dangling artificial emerald earrings which she was wearing.

So, she was yet to give up huh? Xua Ying Yue did not wish to bother herself with Qi Qiao but from the looks of it, the girl had a nasty character because the last time Xua Ying Yue splashed her with a jug full of water, Qi Qiao's fancy bag was drenched and she avenged herself by throwing her bag into the dirty water before stuffing it back in the desk.

Xua Ying Yue looked at the bag which was still dripping and her expression turned dark.
