Lola entered her room and her gaze slowly traveled around the room, ' Someone was here.'
Amber on the other hand hid under the bed, praying silently that she wouldn't be caught.
' I see let's leave then.'
Lola smirked , slowly walked out of her room and closed the door behind her.
Amber sighed deeply and crawled out from under the bed, "Thank Goodness, she's gone."
She opened the door and checked if anyone was there and luckily no one was present. She slowly sneaked out and walked away. Lola who was hiding behind a corner which was few feet away from her room door, chuckled darkly as she watched Amber leave her room and walking towards Livia's room.
"So that's the maid working for Livia," Lola mumbled to herself.
' Shall I use her ? '

Amber entered Livia's room ,shut the door, and handed her the booklet envelope.
"What took you so long?" Livia inquired as she snatched it from Amber's grasp.
"I had to hide because Lola came in," Amber explained, inhaling deeply.
"Were you caught?" Livia asked again, and Amber shook her head. Livia sighed, opened the booklet envelope, and removed the certificate.
"Bring me the lighter in my drawer."
Amber went to her drawer and found the lighter next to an empty pack of cigarettes, she glanced at Livia and then at the pack of cigarettes, she took the lighter and the pack of cigarettes and walked up to Livia.
"Are you still smoking? What if Santiago discovers the truth?" Amber inquired, and Livia groaned, taking the lighter from Amber's grasp and saying, "so what?"
She lit the lighter and held the certificate above the non-luminous fire that was blazing from it, the edge of the paper was set on fire and began to burn, igniting a smile on Livia's face. She threw the paper in the trash can and left it to burn.

The next day...
Santiago had left for work early. Lola and Livia were abandoned at home.
Lola sat on her bed, staring at the photo frame. "I don't want to waste any more time," She muttered to herself.
"You called for me, madam," Laura said as she entered Lola's room.
Lola slowly stood up and turned to face Laura, "Did you inform the maid in charge of Livia's diet about the changes I made?" .
"Remember, we're only going to make it appear like she's sick and needs a check up," Lola explained.
"Yes, I and the other maids will assist you with this madam," Laura assured. Lola gave Laura a cold smile and turned to look at the photo frame once more.
' I wonder why madam is doing this but as her personal maid I shall assist ' Laura thought.
"Bring my breakfast; I'll eat in my room," Lola instructed. Laura bowed and exited her room.
'It will take a day or two to convince Santiago that she is seriously ill; during that time, I will obtain a blood or saliva sample from Santiago, ' Lola reasoned.
***
Livia laid on the sofa a few minutes after finishing her breakfast, clutching her stomach, feeling a slight tightness in her stomach.
'Why am I suddenly having an upset stomach?' She propped up her upper body and sat upright on the sofa. 'Laying down didn't help, and sitting upright is even worse,' She thought as the head maid passed by and noticed Livia's behaviour.
She dashed over to Livia's side and exclaimed, "Miss Livia, are you all right? Is everything okay?"
She then looked into Livia's eyes and saw how dull it was.
As the head maid was about to help Livia up. Livia's hands went to her mouth; she choked, closed her eyes, bent, and a thick rush of fluid filled her mouth, spilled out, and fell to cover the designs on the tiles.
"Oh no !! Amber, please come with me to Miss Livia's room." The head maid stated, Amber rushed to her side and took Livia's hand and wrapped it around her neck. Livia's hands returned to her mouth.
"Take her to her room immediately," yelled the head maid.
The head maid directed the other maids to clean up the vomit before following Amber and Livia to her room.
Lola looked at them as the head maid followed behind them. The head maid's eyes and Lola's met and a shrewd smile crepton Lola's lips. The head maid nodded and continued to walk towards Livia's room.
***
Livia pushed Amber aside, ran into her bathroom, bent over the toilet seat, and almost immediately the same fluid rushed out of her mouth.
'What the hell is going on with me right now?' she wondered, breathing heavily with beads of sweat all over her face.
Amber assisted Livia in standing up and escorted her to her bed. Livia sat and slowly lay down on the bed. The head maid sat beside her and rested her hand on her brow.
"You're burning up. Miss Livia, please rest for the time being; I will notify Sir so that he can give me permission to schedule an appointment with a doctor "She stated.
'Does this imply I'm sick? Could it just be a fever? Nothing serious, so why bother seeing a doctor? I don't want it,' Livia reasoned her eyes suddenly became heavy.
***
'Now I just need Santiago's DNA sample, but how,' Lola pondered as she leaned against her room door. Then a thought occurs to her.
She noticed The head maid walked out of Livia's room and approached her.
"Have you notified Santiago?" Lola inquired.
"That's what I'm about to do," the head maid replied, nodding.
"Make it sound like she's really sick," Lola advised. The Head maid nodded and scurried away.
Santiago returned home almost immediately after receiving the call and went straight into Livia's room, with Lola watching.
"It's almost too easy" Lola mumbled to herself and entered her room waiting for the drama to unfold.
***
Santiago rushed into Livia's room and to her side. He stroked her cheek and rested his hand on her forehead.
"How long has she had these symptoms?" Santiago inquired, taking a glass cup of warm water from Livia's drawer, bringing it close to her lips, placing his hand under her head and bringing it up a little so she could easily take a sip of the water.
"This morning. Sir, I believe you should take her to the hospital for a checkup. Pregnant women must maintain their health at all times in order to protect their unborn child." the head maid stated.
Santiago nodded and said, "I will,"
"What about Lola, was she in this house when this happened?" he asked the head maid.
"Madam has been in her room all day, we did inform her about this but she didn't..." said the head maid with pursed lips. ' Madam, you forced me to lie like this ' she thought and gulped as beads of sweat rushed down her face.
Santiago clenched his fist tightly on the glass cup, and it shattered into pieces, some of which cut through his hand, causing blood to rush out, but Santiago felt nothing but anger. The eyes of the head maid and the other maids present widened and their mouths were covered.
Santiago rose to his feet and prepared to leave when the head maid grabbed his hand and said, "Sir, your hand is bleeding."
Santiago yanked his hand free and marched out of Livia's room.
He stormed into Lola's room and found her sitting on her bed. He approached her and grabbed her arm. Lola raised her brows as she looked at him.
'Oh, Santiago, it's almost too easy to fool you,'
"You don't deserve to live because you're a heartless woman. Livia is assisting you... No, she's assisting us in carrying our child. You're not even bothered now that she's sick "Santiago yelled, and Lola lowered her gaze to his bleeding hand, the look in her eyes softening slightly as she thought, 'You must really love this woman.'
Lola took his hand off her arm and said, "Sit and calm down for a sec, then hear me out for once," tapping the space beside her. Santiago was still furious, but he sat down.
"Why don't you start thinking before you do stupid things like this," She said, taking his bleeding hand into hers.
"Don't touch me," Santiago said, raising his eyebrow and pulling his hand away.
Lola opened the drawer beside her and took out a first-aid kit, she forcefully pulled his bleeding hand and said, "Be quiet, I'm still your wife and I can touch you whenever I want and don't you dare remove your hand or else I will make it hurt more than it should. "
She opened the kit and took out a tweezer.
Santiago fixed his gaze on her with widened eyes and remained motionless. She cleaned the tweezer with methylated spirit and began to pull out the tiny pieces of glass in his palm, before pulling out a cotton wool slightly soaked in methylated spirit and cleaning up around his blood.
'Her touch is so gentle and smooth,' Santiago observed. She was showing Santiago such kindness and gentleness for the first time that it made Santiago's heart skip a beat.
Santiago winced and closed his eyes. He opened his eyes as soon as he felt a gentle breeze blowing over his injured palm, relieving the pain. His gaze was drawn to Lola, who continued to blow on his wound.
'Why is she suddenly like this?' His face turned slightly red.
'She's never acted like this before,' He reflected.
Lola, on the other hand, felt like she was reliving her senior year of high school. Images of her assisting Luis with his wound at the school infirmary flashed through her mind.
'I'd always wondered how he got those wounds. It was annoying because whenever I asked him, he would either remain silent or change the subject,' She thought.
"I already made an appointment with a gynaecologist for Livia, so no need to worry yourself," Lola said as she bandaged his hands.
After she had finished bandaging his hand, she asked softly, smiling, "Do I still appear heartless now?"
'What's with that cute smile?' Santiago reasoned, his face flushed. He was still dazed, so he couldn't answer her question. He rose to his feet and declared, "Ahem! We'll go to the hospital tomorrow."
Lola nodded and watched him walk out of her room.
' Too easy, All I needed to do was look cute . Santiago, you're such a foolish man. '
