Santiago stood in front of the glass wall and stared at the street below himhis eyes narrowed, a frown etched on his face and a glass of wine in his hand. The early morning sunshine streamed through, illuminating the buildings on either side and turning the pavement a light brown shade.
A few birds chirped as they flew to their nests on the top of the building opposite. He took a sip, wincing slightly from the cold wine that burned his throat and sent a wave of pain coursing through him, and then set down the glass.
He turned around and walked into his hotel room en suite bathroom. His toiletries were already laid out there for him and he stripped off his robe and stepped under the hot shower, closing his eyes. The heat of the water relaxed all the muscles in his body.
' The hotel here is top notch, ' he thought.
After he rinsed off all his other skin he dried himself off with a towel and wrapped it around his waist.
