Chapter 17

Did the Sects deliberately ban any disciples of the latter layers of the Golden Core stage to enter the Da dynasty secret realm because of this reason? Or joining some secret realm expedition team. Jiang Xiaotong would need to ask those old farts the next time he saw them.

Jiang Xiaotong asked Feng Delun, "Elder brother, is there something bothering you?"

Feng Delun met his curious eyes. "Wait until eldest brother returned."

Speak of the devil and the devil shall come, like he was summoned Ming Yongnian had returned and entered the house. Jiang Xiaotong seemed to have choked on his own spit.

His eldest brother, Ming Yongnian's perfect man image, within Jiang Xiaotong's mind was utterly destroyed! Completely collapsed!

A round bulge was obviously protruding at the front of Ming Yongnian's robes, it was clearly moving, then a tiny head poked out of Ming Yongnian's lapels.

Err, why put the baby inside of your robes?!

It ruined the lofty immortal image that Ming Yongnian had cultivated, now Ming Yongnian looked very much like any househusband. Except unlike normal house husbands that looked like a bigfoot coming out of the cave-house, Ming Yongnian still looked very much like a model in a runway with a very peculiar bulging haute couture.

How did eldest brother even manage to carry his baby in his lapels that way? Won't his lapels open up and the baby fall down?

Unless some sticking spell were involved…

"It's too tiresome to carry her in my arms all the time."

Oops, Ming Yongnian was still sharp as ever, it was like the immortal could hear Jiang Xiaotong's thoughts.

"You're an open book."

"Ah!" The baby babbled.

His fingers pointed at the baby mid air, almost accusatory. Was Jiang Xiaotong imagining things, or did the baby agree with Ming Yongnian.

"Eldest brother, there's something we need to discuss." Feng Delun took over before Jiang Xiaotong could start a fight with a baby.

"I'm listening."

"In the first Da dynasty secret realm…"

His own footsteps felt deafening in the empty wide grand hall of gold. Each time his footsteps echoed through the hall. His reflection was clear on the golden surface. It would take meticulous polishing for it to reflect clearly. For the floor itself to be polished to perfection, how many hands had their skin peeled off to achieve this grandeur. Feng Delun could only imagine.

Now, should he grind the whole building to dust, or should he seal it off into his storage space and carry it as it was. The option to grind it all down to dust was rather appealing, but considering like any other treasures in this secret realm this golden mausoleum should be spelled with a parry spell, which will counter attack against him and return his own attacks. Regardless of whether or not he put up some shield, it would bypass the shield. And if he did choose to seal it off into his pouch, he'll have to fight against the guardian or guardians.

He'll go down the sealing route. It was better than feeling what being grind to dust was like.

He'll have to seal it away in his storage. His fingers dripped with ink paused, his eyes landed on a writing at the far end of the hall. From afar a writing on the wall may seem like scribbles of a child's work, to a mortal in the path of cultivation these scribbles were writings, obviously.

Though, it was no normal writing.

"Herein lies…"

"The Conqueror of Gods."

Li Jiayi choked, his eyes widened, the man inflicted with the illness dubbed as "romantics" seemed to be cured at that instant. "The Conqueror of Gods?!"

"Do you know something, Jiayi?"

"I do not know for certain, the Conqueror of Gods was mentioned in very few ancient texts." Hastily, Li Jiayi pulled out a small book out of his space storage, flipping through the pages, his face lit up and laid down the book.

Everyone closed in on the book, forming a circle around it and Li Jiayi.

At the corner of Jiang Xiaotong's eyes he saw that the baby was also looking at the book, like the baby knew exactly how to read. But, hold on, babies couldn't read.

"Eldest brother, why do I have the feeling your baby… isn't normal."

"We'll discuss my child after this, and I'll need your help, Xiaotong."

"...Right."

Their attention returned to the book, in which Li Jiayi had written some notes regarding the one known as the Conqueror of Gods. Li Jiayi spoke, "It seemed that some people tried to bury any information regarding the Conqueror of Gods. So each time a writer would mention the Conqueror of Gods, they deliberately hide it meticulously, unless one knows what they were seeking, then they would find the information."

Jin Liwei frowned. "How did you manage to know of the Conqueror of Gods then, if it was hidden?"

"I pieced together information across many books."

"That sounds like what you would do." Lan Jianhong praised, intoxicatedly.

The two men shared profound smiles. Jiang Xiaotong had already lit three incense sticks for the two men in his heart. When they sobered up they would strangle each other to death, or drink a bucket of soap detergent, and skinned their skin off.

"Jiayi, focus." Feng Delun clicked his fingers.

"Ah, where was I?" Li Jiayi snapped out of his stupor.

"I believe you were about to explain to us who this Conqueror of God was." Luo Huifang supplied.

Li Jiayi nodded hastily. "Alright, as his title had stated, he conquered gods from the heavens, Celestia. Bringing chaos along with him. The oldest records I have that mentioned him came from the Xian dynasty."

"The ancient dynasty from the Northern realm?" Luo Huifang questioned.

"Yes! So it is surprising to hear that a Da dynasty secret realm's mausoleum would mention the Conqueror of Gods so openly. The Da dynasty does not have any connections whatsoever to the Xian dynasty. At least none that I could see for now."

"Elder brother, you sealed away the mausoleum in your pouch correct? May we see it?" Wu Jinjing asked, expectantly.

Feng Delun seemed to hesitate, meeting their curious gazes, including Ming Yongnian's, made Feng Delun buckled. He understood when it was anyone else in their odd familial group to be hyped and curious like cats in the face of a mystery. But not when it came to Ming Yongnian. Feng Delun was always surprised.

Ming Yongnian seemed to have the ability to read people's minds these days and said, "I've never heard of a Conqueror of Gods, it sounded like an ominous title."

What a simple reason…

Feng Delun made sure they released the alleged mausoleum out in the open far from the village. Though, should he release the mausoleum with Ming Yongnian's baby in the vicinity?

"She'll be fine, I'll protect her, my daughter is also curious."

How did you know your daughter was curious, Feng Delun wondered.

Did ascending to the Immortal cultivation stage give a cultivator the ability to read minds? Feng Delun supposed he could only climb the steps leading towards immortality. After all Ming Yongnian could be tight lipped at random matters.

Feng Delun unsealed the mausoleum with no grandeur. One moment there was only an unhealthy land in front of them, the very next there was a golden mausoleum, contrasting its very poor condition surroundings. The golden building was like a palace, perhaps it was compared to its desolate surroundings. It would be equivalent to comparing a pauper and beauty, the earth to heavens. But that was what they were seeing.

Lan Jianhong was, as expected, the first one to react to the building. The cultivator in blue hugged a golden column. His eyes watery, lips stretched wide. "This building is simply fantastic!"

Jie Qiqiang buried his face in his hands. "If Jianhong could roll in bed with a building, he would."

"See this is why none of you are getting a dual cultivation partner." Lai Meihui mocked.

"Dual cultivation is a hassle." Wu Jinjing surprised Lai Meihui. Lai Meihui dared not to amend Wu Jinjing's way of thoughts.

Jiang Xiaotong commented, "You'll have to give up a part of yourself, and accommodate your partner needs, bla, bla, bla. Then your friend came to you and told you 'dude, you've changed!'. I get the reason why some people hate romance novels."

While some of them were discussing unrelated topics, the ever diligent and bookworm Li Jiayi traced over the writing with his finger tips. He was staring at the walls and columns, then back at the writings. "Jianhong, do you see any carvings on the walls?"

(Jie Qiqiang leaned into Wu Jinjing's space and whispered to her, "Has your potion worn off of them?"

"It has, or it's greatly weakened.")

Lan Jianhong who was rubbing his cheeks on the golden walls paused, and took a step away, this time instead of simply fanboy-ing over the architecture, Lan Jianhong paid special attention to the tiny details. Palming his mouth, his other hand touched the walls, deep in his own thoughts, then he stuck his tongue out onto the golden walls tasting it.
