It was nighttime. Blair was facing the mirror, while Helen was standing behind her with a brush that was working through the princess's golden brown hair.
"The mark still hasn't gone, your highness?" Helen asked, perplexed as to seeing the huge marks, still fresh on her highness's neck.
"Yeah" Blair admitted with a sigh. When Helen had gone to meet Lady Agnes, the maid had reported back to her that the woman was out of their kingdom.
In addition, she was arriving, a week later.
Helen's lips parted and a sigh escaped, she kept her mouth shut as she applied rose essential oils to Blair's skin. Once she was done with her course, she exited the room at the princess's order since there was nothing left to do.
Blair yawned and stretched lazily, feeling her eyelids getting heavy. She walked to the bed to get some comfort. She hoped that this night would pass well.
She didn't like having nightmares.
Before she retreated to the bed, she glanced over at her bodyguard who was laying at the end of the room. His body was stretched, and his arms were placed across his eyes.
She wondered if he was sleeping already.
Not wanting to disturb him, she silently slid into her bed and covered herself with the duvet. She stared at the ceiling, wondering when she would soon fall numb.
Shortly, she drifted into a deep slumber.
Blair anticipated that this night would be like every other night when she had nightmares. With the exception of minimal days that she slept well.
She soon started turning her head left and right in trepidation, her hands clenching her duvet firmly against her chest.
....
The princess was wandering around the woods. Her hands collected her dress from the floor to avoid getting dirty or ripped by the thorns.
Her eyes peeked around the woods, trying to find her way out to the castle. But each time she walked away from there, she always returned to the same spot. It was freaking her out!
She decided to call out to her bodyguard who had promised to always be by her side, but he wasn't there. Neither did he answer her calls.
"Ten!" Her voice echoed in the woods, loud and clear but no one came to her aid. Blair's eyes started forming a mist that gradually slipped down her cheeks.
She hurried to the front, to the back, sideways, yet, she was back in the same spot.
She was too lightheaded to ponder about what was happening around her. All she wanted, was to get out of this scary woods and be in the castle. In the comfort of her family.
She soon felt her throat getting sore from all the yelling that she had done, so she opted to sit and wait for her bodyguard to arrive.
However, before she took a step, she came across the dark-haired wolf. His eyes radiated a red color under the son, just like the other time that she encountered him, he was angry at her.
Why? What did she do?
She watched him growling in rage. He was far away from her, she could still run, but she felt her feet rooted to the ground and her soul sucked in by his eyes to prevent her from leaping away.
Since there was nothing to do, she could try to calm him down and inquire about the last time they met. She wanted to know why he inflicted that pain on her.
"Hey" she called out.
He howled at her.
"I know you're mad at me, can you just tell me the reason?" she asked.
Blair was sure that he heard what she spat. Still, he was walking toward her, the rage in his eyes not mellowing down. "You did this to me" she pointed at her neck as she tilted it to give him a better view.
He halted in place. She could feel his anger towards her simmering down as he walked to meet her. Blair inhaled sharply, trying to steady herself because she felt she would sway due to the wind.
With every step he took towards her, her eyes grew wide until he quelled in front of her. They were only inches apart and she wasn't doing anything to save herself, she wasn't running!
Why wasn't she running? Wasn't she aware of how weak she was? Is it until when he devoured her completely?
She saw his eyes narrow towards her neck and the unexpected thing happened. He crouched down to her size and flicked his tongue across her neck.
'Ooh' A wave of euphoria washed down her spine, she tilted her neck again to give him better access, and he continued to lick the mark that he had inflicted on her.
She felt lightheaded. Her toes curled and her stomach churned in excitement, she leaned closer to him and felt his soft fur under her palm.
Soon her hands roamed around his body, feeling and clenching his fur softly. Her eyes were closed to savor the moment and her nose inhaled the slight smell of- Geranium and cedar wood.
Blair was intoxicated.
Suddenly, she felt him standstill. A dark aura radiated from him that would've thrown her away if she hadn't held on to him tightly.
What happened? Did she mistakenly touch a spot she wasn't supposed to?
His eyes blazed in anger as they paired down at her. She must run now! This wasn't the time for fun, he was seriously madder than before.
She felt her skin and gums itch. Her white fur slowly popped out and her claws popped wide as well, she opted to leap away from him but he had slashed her at her back.
She stumbled to the ground and whimpered.
...
Blair jerked on the bed and sat up abruptly, her heart was thumping against her chest loudly. What kind of nightmare is this? She asked herself, tears were starting to form in her eyes.
Blair had no idea who she had offended to make her suffer this way, why couldn't she sleep like a normal person, she always ended up having strange nightmares.
And on top of that, she felt a sharp pain in her back.
