Chapter 24: A mother's rage

Davina had requested that Neo should be freed, with the support of her guards. She took him away from the dungeon.

She had ensured to keep him in a safe place, along with his fellows because she didn't want Dorian to unleash his anger on the rest of them.

The royal physicians were called to attend to him, and although, Neo was an Alpha, his injuries healed up pretty quickly, Davina just called the physicians in case there was anything left to rectify.

She had also told them not to saunter around, their sustenance would be on her till the time for them to leave arrived.

General Neo didn't even know how to express his gratitude to her. He was thankful that she had come to his aid and he let her know of that fact. Davina only smiled at him and exited the area.

Leaving Neo with his colleagues that kept on questioning him on how things ended up this way.

Elvira sat in her room, receiving some facial treatment from her maids when the door burst open, and an angry Dorian emerged from it.

He fumed endlessly, going to the wall to punch it until blood dripped down his hands. Every time he was compared to that elder brother of his, He felt his blood boil within him.

Elvira was surprised to find Dorian in this state so she ordered the maids to give them some space so she could discuss with him.

The servants understood and retreated.

"Brother, what's wrong with you?" Nova questioned as she opened her eyes. She rubbed her eyes to enable her to see him clearly since she had just woken up from sleep.

"Ask that whore!" he raged. Turning his head to find his sister sitting on the bed, in no time, he flew to her and grasped her neck, hard.

Elvira gasped.

"The next time I find you anywhere close to that woman, I'll behead you" He threatened, while tightening his grip on her neck.

Nova choked.

She raised her chubby hands to get rid of her brother's hand from her neck but her efforts were futile. Her brother was much stronger than her.

"Dorian, stop this at once!" Ordered Elvira, she rose from her sit and went forward to push Dorian away from Nova so that he could stop hurting her.

Nova coughed, "What the hell is wrong with you? Someone urinated in your food?" she managed to ask.

She earned both the glare of her mother and Dorian. "Shut up!" Her mother quietened her.

"You should know how to speak to your elder brother" She shunned the girl.

"But... Big brother is not being reasonable, why would he grasp my neck all of a sudden?" She questioned, directing her gaze to Dorian as she was expecting an answer to his outrageous behavior but he didn't provide her one. Instead, he glared at her.

"I just told you to know how you'll speak to your elder brother!"

She slapped the girl across her face. Nova held her cheeks in pain as she looked back at her mother, wondering if she had gone mad just like her brother for hitting her without a reason.

Nova stood up furiously, "You both need to get your head checked. That's the reason I don't want to be anywhere close to you, for fear that you would infect me with your foolishness" she spat in rage.

She wouldn't have burst out like that if her buttons weren't pushed.

Heck! She was tired of her so-called mother and brother. She just wanted to leave them and seek comfort in Davina's arms. She leaped to the door, wanting to dash away from their sight.

But Elvira had teleported to the door and grabbed the neck of Nova. She lifted her off the ground with one hand.

"And where do you think you're going?" she questioned, no warmth in her eyes as she glared at her foolish daughter.

"To mother Davina, of course, I prefer her to you!" Snapped Nova but she instantly regretted her actions.

Elvira's eyes flashed an amber glow, she threw Nova across the room in a rage. The latter's head collided with the wall and she passed out.

Elvira didn't feel any hurt for causing her daughter pain. Instead, she felt jealous to be compared to that woman.

Dorian felt the tension in the air, "Mother" He called to calm her down and thankfully, the woman's rage alleviated.

"Now" she turned to her son, "What happened?" Her voice came out softly.

Dorian started narrating what transpired between him, Neo, and Davina.

Just like every other time, Elvira supported her son's action and didn't caution him. She didn't even make him realize that it was rude of him to be so disrespectful to his elders.

Instead, rage bubbled up within her. She found her legs darting in the direction of the door and she exited the room, without letting Dorian complete his statement.

Davina! She hated that woman and her name. She could not wait to get her hands on her and shatter her into pieces.

Fortunately for Elvira, the two of them bumped into each other along the passageway. They rescinded their steps with a grimace.

Elvira glared at Davina, likewise, Davina glared at her too.

"Do you mind explaining what you did to my son, a while ago?" Asked Elvira, not wanting to beat around the bush.

Davina raised her head high, "I was simply teaching him some manners since you failed to teach him." she responded in bewilderment to Elvira.

She threw her head to the side and checked her nails, "I wouldn't hesitate to teach you also if you're here for a fight" She completed her statement as she eyed Elvira up and down.

"You... You didn't just say that to me, did you?" Her nose flared in anger.

"I did" She simply responded, "What are you going to do?" Davina challenged Elvira.

"You..." Elvira was lost for words, she didn't know how to counter to what the woman just said.

Another thing that baffled her was that, Davina was talking back at her. Since when did the meek woman turn fierce?

"I?" Inquired Davina, urging her to continue with her lousy words so she could start disciplining her.

"Forget it" Elvira mused. "I'll deal with you once everything falls into place" She smirked, referring to when Dorian would ascend the throne and all matters would be decided by her and her son.

Oh, she couldn't wait to be the king's mother! Just the title alone would shut Davina's trap and throw her back into her hole.

Davina watched Elvira swivel on her heels to leave. The former knew what the smirk was implying.

She wouldn't let that happen, no matter what!
