Davina exited the courtroom with a gloomy face. She should have known that this was going to happen but she had overlooked it.
Dorian and his mother were in total control of the cities in Ardenia. Even the kingdom at large.
She feared for herself and her son's life if Kodiak was to die any moment from now, though that might take a long period to happen. Still. She was scared.
"Going somewhere?" Elvira blocked her path with a sinister smirk lingering on her lips.
She had been watching Davina in the courtroom and she was quite satisfied seeing the range of emotions that flashed through the woman's face.
"What do you want now?" Davina requested, with a scowl on her face, she wasn't in the mood to entertain this mad woman right now.
She needed to find her son, and that too, quickly!
A dry chuckle escaped from Elvira's lips, "Nothing much" she started, her feet strolling forward to stand right in front of Davina.
"Just a quick reminder that I'll soon be the mother of a king" she chuckled.
Davina rolled her eyes.
"So you better run away now or else... You won't be pleased with yourself once I get hold of you and your wretched son" she fumed.
Davina ignored her threats and remained calm and composed. "The king isn't dead yet, you're in a haste to climb unto power. If the king doesn't die, forget it Elvira, your class would always remain lower than mine"
The woman's face paled in anger and she glared at the woman in front of her. She just hated when Davina never fails to give a comeback.
"Oh Kodiak would soon, and when he does I'll have your tongue cut off" she retorted in anger and then left the place, leaving Davina with a clenched fist, standing in the passageway.
Davina knew that the woman wasn't bluffing, she could be really dangerous and Davina really needed to act, quickly.
If Zephyr was here, Dorian wouldn't stand a chance against him because Zephyr was much stronger, more intelligent, and capable of ruling the kingdom, better than Dorian.
But majorities of the courtiers failed to see it.

She strode into her chamber hastily and began to pack her things into a large wooden box.
Her maid, Isabella, on hearing the loud sound in the Queen's chamber rushed to see what was going on.
She had thought that it was the maids who were making noise. They certainly needed some cautioning!
However, she was surprised to emerge into the chamber and see the Queen who was rummaging through the clothes in her closet and throwing some into the wooden box.
"Your majesty, what are you doing?" The older woman's eyes widened in question.
Davina threw a glance at her, then she focused on her work. "I'll be out for a long time, ensure to take care of this place while I'm gone. I wouldn't be pleased to return and find another person occupying my place"
The old woman was confused by the situation as her eyes kept darting from the closet to the wooden box. Could the Queen just run some explanations for her?
Was she perhaps fighting with Kodiak and wanted to leave?
"That's alright, your majesty but please inform me of what you are up to" The old lady begged.
She had been with Davina since when the latter was a child and had taken care of her till the time she blossomed and got married. She was still present now that Davina had given birth.
So she found it tough to not even know what was going on with her. When Isabella considered herself as Davina's second mother.
"There isn't much time to explain, just promise me to do what you are asked of" she pleaded also, taking the older woman's hand in hers and squeezing it gently.
Isabella nodded slightly, although she was still confused, she decided to let it go and probably question her when she came back.
"Thanks for understanding" she leaned forward, to plant a gentle kiss on the woman's forehead.
Then she veered around to strip her gown, much to the woman's puzzlement, she wore dark leather pant and a short tight top that reached just under her bust. She finished her clothing with a big boot and a large jacket.
Isabella's eyes widened, what was the queen up to? Especially when she strapped her sword against her waistline.
"Your majesty, I don't think it's safe to travel like this" The woman spoke of her fears, seeing the large curves that Davina had left open for the world to see.
Ardenia's men could be crazy, they might lie that they didn't know it was the queen since she wasn't wearing a robe and a crown and thus- take advantage of her.
"I feel comfortable like this" She spat, her hands were groping her hair that she ended up pulling into a high ponytail.
The old woman sighed and just watched the drama unfolding in front of her. Although she was still inquisitive about what was happening.
"I'll be back soon" Davina informed the woman, she held unto her large wooden box and walked to exit the room.
"At least, let someone help you with that" The old woman spoke.
Davina sighed and once again turned to face the woman, "Don't stress yourself. I said I'll be fine and I mean it, just wait for me till I'm back"
"Mmmm" The woman buzzed. She watched Davina exit the room eventually.
Nonetheless, Davina hadn't reached anywhere when Kodiak appeared in her way. He was stupefied to see her dressed in that manner and anger coursed through his veins.
His dark eyes turned another shade of dark as he walked silently towards her, his jaw clenched and fists tightened. "What do you think you're doing?" He thundered.
Isabella was scared for the Queen's life, she ran forward to at least grab the Queen and return her to the chamber before the king got madder.
"Doing what you're not able to do" She retorted with a frown on her face.
Kodiak thought that he could disclose the truth forever but Davina had unraveled it already, the king had never sent anyone to search for his son.
"You won't go anywhere Davina, leave that wretched boy wherever he is" He spat in disdain.
She countered instantly, "You can't stop me Kodiak from finding him and when he comes back, he'll stop all of you and Dorian from committing atrocious acts throughout the land"
Kodiak chuckled loudly as if he just heard the most unbelievable thing.
"You think your son is still the same? Only everyone here knows that he's a greedy being that cares about nothing, but power. Caring for someone like that would only leave you hurting, an advice for you Davina. Let go of that boy"
She felt her eyes sting at those words he spat, yeah, she knew she was partly at fault for separating from him when he was at the toughest time of his age, and had only returned when he had become an adult.
Davina and zephyr's bond wasn't too strong but Davina knew her son. He was nothing like they thought he was. That, she knew.
"You don't understand the pain I'm going through because you aren't a mother Kodiak, whatever you say to me won't stop me from doing what I want" she attempted to walk past him.
"Get back here Davina, you are going, nowhere" He wanted to block her path but she pushed him aside.
"Guards, stop her!" He cried out to the human guards who were on duty.
