A Speck of Dust

Thinking for a moment, Di Tou decided to focus on what went wrong the night before.

After all, it wasn't like he couldn't use his Spiritual Sense forever right? Especially considering how useful he had discovered it was, it'd be a real travesty if he decided against using it just because he had been hurt once, especially considering that the main reason was that he was being careless.

Fighting against the pain, Di Tou tried to remember what had happened the night before.

He had remembered extending his Spiritual Sense into the hole, further and further, and in retrospect, he could even imagine his Spiritual Sense reserves dwindling, but what had caused the backlash?

After all, thinking of his Spiritual Sense as a spool of string, which wasn't the best analogy, but would work, when he ran it to the end, at most it would stop going further right? It wouldn't snap, as there wasn't any significant force driving it or pulling it forward.
