What Makes a Genius?

Fu Hao Xin's original talents could be considered on the better side of things, but nothing exceptional enough to make him a prodigy among prodigies. This was because what made a genius a genius was a combination of a number of things. Naturally, talent, like physical constitution and affinity to Qi, was an important qualification. Other than that, the two qualifications that people looked for the most were simple: money and opportunity.

Money was pretty straightforward. A person who didn't have resources to cultivate would remain weak their entire lives, regardless of how good their talents were. It didn't really matter how they got these resources, be it through background, joining a power, or swindling. Without resources, they were nothing. As the old adage goes, even the best housewife can't do anything without rice.
