The Village Bell Rings

An awkward expression on his face, Guard Wu didn't know how to explain the situation. Obviously, the situation was much more serious than that, but as a guard, he couldn't be as bold as the kid and go around saying things like beasts were overtaking the mountain and ransacking the village. As a guard, he could partially be considered a public figure, so if he let his mouth run and big trouble came, even in the best-case scenario, he'd lose his job.

At the same time, the situation was obviously important, and he had to do a good job explaining it, but the village chief was good in most aspects but tended to have the habit of cutting people off when he thought they were being draggy. Adding in the fact he clearly wasn't in a good mood from being woken up, it'd be a bit of a problem to explain, too.

While Guard Wu was wondering how to brooch the subject, Fu Hao Xin spoke up, "Village chief, I'm Fu Hao Xin from the mountains, my parents brought me here to see you once."
