Sudden Circumstance

Chatting and joking as they walked, the journey back to the village felt much shorter than the journey to the river. After seeing Di Tou off at Mr. Ba's stand, Di Tou let out a yawn and prepared to head back to get another nap in. Who could help it? There wasn't centralized entertainment, there wasn't TV, radio, or even a good newspaper way out here! There really wasn't all that much to do other than run around in the mud and sleeping. Of course, that was if one ignored all the work they had to do to keep their farms alive and to live a good life, but all of that wasn't that relevant to Di Tou who wasn't a regular resident of the village.

In the end, the only past time Di Tou had left was sleeping and reading, and considering all of his reading wasn't enjoyable casual reading and stories but instead dense instructional content, Di Tou spent a good amount of the day sleeping, sometimes meditating on what he had just read in his dreamland.
