Free Things Must Be Weighed

One of the first things he had learned growing up with a common background was that while deals, sales, and discounts were good and needed to be taken advantage of if you wanted to be able to save any money, things that were free needed to be scrutinized.

In his mother's words, "Free things must be weighed." Only then would one have an idea of how much they would cost.

Di Tou wasn't cynical to to the point that he would declare 'nothing is free in this world!' As things like samples at food markets or grocery stores were real things that existed. It wasn't that there was 'no cost' but the cost didn't burden Di Tou in anyway, so they might as well be treated as free. Who cared if the store wanted publicity, free food was free food!

But no matter what, one did have to think a little bit when confronted with a deal that seemed too good.
