Ranking Day, Part 2

"The unworthy," I repeated. "You talking about me?"

"If the shoe fits," the pink-haired dryad replied.

She looked so smug that I wanted to jump over that table and clock her in the head. I didn't do that though. No point in making enemies of the staff. It was something I said out loud too.

"I'm a ranker!" she snapped.

"Oh, really?" I shrugged. "Well, if they're making you help here. You're not that high in the rankings, are you?"

Now it was the dryad who looked like she was about to jump the table. Lunden stopped her though.

"We're volunteers with the Student Council's Ranking Committee," he explained. Then, as if he couldn't keep himself from hiding his annoyance, Lunden's eyes narrowed ever so slightly. It lasted only a blink of an eye though, and then he was back to being prim and proper when he scolded the dryad. "Don't let the human boy rile you up so much."
