Despite my reluctance to intentionally die, I was resolved to redo this night all over again. I'd lost too much, and I hated losing stuff. However, before I could even think to push that reset button, there were things I needed to do first. I needed to win. My pride would allow no less than that.

So, what were the criteria for winning this round?

Well, first, I needed to save Liara. I would never leave my betrothed behind no matter how dire the circumstance. Luckily for me, the first thing I saw as I rushed into Vlad's treasure room were her pale-gray eyes staring back at me as if the she-elf was expecting me to barge in at that exact moment.

She was alright. Exhausted, sure, but apart from the gash on her forehead, my betrothed didn't seem to have suffered other wounds. More importantly, Liara was on her feet and still fighting the good fight.
