Daughter of the Night, Part 1

It was a while later—after Liara finished dabbing the bite on my neck with a Wisdom and Co. healing potion and bandaging it with a Wisdom and Co. healing gauze—when Carmina finally stirred from her musings. The Lady Night Circus spoke in the language that the Arefu villagers used too—Romanian or Hungarian, I think—and although the only word I recognized was "Lup," which I knew meant 'wolf', I gathered from the frowns rising on her followers' faces that Carmina had seen exactly what I wanted her to see. 

"He-he-he-he," giggled the green-haired, rail-thin dude in the clown suit. "I've always wanted to gut a monstrous wolf with my knives. He-he-he — and now I get my chance — he-he-he…"
