"Am I worthy?" Dess asked in a worried tone I usually didn't associate with the always-bright fairy.

"I don't think it's about being worthy…" I glanced sideways at Liara.

A glowing white tiara was wrapped around her head.

I glanced down.

Beneath the folds of my shirt, a soft orange glow was peeking out.

"I think it's about proving your worth after you receive a grimoire's power," I said confidently.

Looking back on all our adventures since we acquired our grimoires, Liara and I have mostly used our powers for good. We've done selfish things while using them too, for sure, but when shit hits the fan, my betrothed and I were always standing at the front of the line and holding back the dark. That's why I could confidently say, at least to myself, that we'd shown our quality—and it was of a superfine nature.
