Chapter 8 - Sea King City [1]

Three days have already passed since Lax was given a blessing, and during that time, Lax managed to successfully rank up to Rank 2, given the dense energy flowing in the temple.

Currently Lax was in the room provided to him for his own use and training, and he was standing there with a sword in his hands.

He was silent and still, and that lasted for a few more minutes, until a dense energy burst out from his body, and he tried to calm it down and return it to his body.

"FINALLY! I'm Rank 2 peak level!" Lax screamed and the energy flowing out from his body was now gone as if it was never there, however, his sword was radiating an aura of energy and this was the fruit of Lax's hard work for the past three days.

While you are Rank1, you can only move your energy inside your body to strengthen yourself, on the other hand when you are Rank2, you can now move that energy to other things, such as a sword, which is what Lax is doing right now.

A black aura can be seen radiating from his sword and Lax swung his sword in his right hand.

*Crack*

The sword made a crack on the floor even though it did not reach it and Lax was pleased with the result and wanted to put it to the test again.

He retracted the energy in the sword before going to the bathroom to take a bath.

Lax finished washing himself and put on the clothing Raymond had given him.

He was dressed in a black single breasted three piece suit with a black lapel, black slacks, and a black blindfold knotted over his head.

It was given to him by Raymond, and he accepted it. Even though the blindfold will weaken him by half, it will allow him to stop time three times for a minute. That's right, this was the thing that both the gods mentioned they would give to him as a lifesaving measure, and it befitted him as he was blind.

The gods already knew that Lax could use his senses to see, so they told Raymond that he didn't need to train his senses.

A few minutes later, Lax arrived in front of the space crack leading to the first world.

Raymond arrived a moment later to give him his sword, bow, and arrows. He was also given a spatial ring provided by the God of Space and Time, so this spatial ring not only has a large capacity but also stops time inside it.

"Thank you,by the way, Raymond, have you seen my sister? I haven't seen her for three days already." Lax questioned.

"Master Lax, Your sister is currently with the goddess, and she is training her on the fifth floor, where lightning energy is the densest and strongest." Raymond replied.

"Hey, isn't that dangerous?"

"Do not worry Master Lax, that is why the Goddess hasn't given your sister her blessing yet so that she could train her and with her around, not to mention creatures of that world, not even the lightning will be able to hurt your sister there."

"Okay, I'm relieved that she's safe with the Goddess by her side. I don't have to worry that much about her safety."

"I'll be seeing you later, Raymond. Adios!" Lax said before finally jumping into the crack.

==========

*Pak*

"Arrghh! That hurts..."

As Lax jumped into the space crack, he bumped his head into the trunk of a tree in front of the other side of the space crack.

"This damn tree, they did this on purpose, didn't they?" Lax muttered, clearly annoyed, and the space crack disappeared right after he arrived.

"Well, moving on, it seems I've arrived at a forest."

"Woah." Looking at his back, Lax exclaimed.

Behind him, a barren land with cracked soil and no vegetation contrasts with the place in front of him, where a forest lies from one side to the other seemingly like it has no end.

And right now, Lax was in the middle of those two opposite lands.

Like where a normal person would move to if they were in his situation Lax moved towards the forest while concealing himself.

He moved fast with a goal of finding people or creatures of this world, and while he was running, he passed by trees reaching tall enough to reach the clouds. It was a wonderful new experience for him as he ran through the forest with trees comparable to the largest tree back on earth.

He kept running like that for half a day until he found a lake.

The lake was so big, no big was an understatement, it was like an ocean that's so wide it's difficult to measure, and on the surface of the lake multiple islands lay and what seemed like a city could be seen on each of them.

Lax wanted to go to one of the islands, but he had no way to do so as it was far from the shore and he had no ship.

So the only thing Lax did was run around the lake for half an hour, and finally he saw an island close to the shore. But he quickly hid himself because on the shore he saw a wharf. (A/N: Like a dock, I think.)

On the wharf, he saw humans, and everything about them was normal except for the fact that they had gills and scales on their bodies.

"The civilization of this world is comparable to or maybe even more advanced than that of Earth, also, it seems that humans here evolved to have scales and gills. If they had a tail and fins, I would have believed they were mermaids." Lax thought to himself.

He then used his [Disguised] and [Conceal] to sneak in one the ships.

After arriving at a ship that's heading towards the island near them, he moved around the ship until he reached the quarterdeck. Lax looked at the man in the deck and used [Appraisal] on him.

"It looks like he's the captain of this ship, how about the person beside him?..."

[Vice Captain of the Sea Runners ship.]

"Oh, they're brothers, and looking at their nature, they seem like good people." Lax muttered, and he chose to stay behind them.

A few minutes later, the captain pushed a button and spoke.

"Everyone brace yourselves, we will now be departing for SeaKing's branch city." He announced as he locked his body into his chair with two seatbelts.

The captain then pulled a lever, and an announcement resounded throughout the ship.

"Submarine mode initiating... preparing for dive."

"Dive?" Lax questioned as he also locked himself in the wall using energy.

The whole ship was then covered by what looked like black steel, and now the whole thing really looked like a submarine if seen from the outside.

The ship submerged into the water as it entered a tube under the surface that was big enough for it to fit in.

A few moments later, the ship moved at a speed approaching the sound barrier. Lax was shocked by this, but he was still enjoying the ride as it was a new experience for him.

"Technologies in other worlds really rock!" He thought and continued to enjoy the feeling of riding a ship moving at the speed of sound. They people inside the ship weren't being thrown back by the speed as the black steel that covered that ship absorbed most of the force.

The ship then started getting slower and slower as it approached closer to the island, and it finally stopped after exiting the tube and reaching the shore, and the black steel was not covering the ship anymore.

"We have arrived at SeaKing's branch island. I hope you guys enjoyed the ride." The captain announced, and Lax nodded happily at his words.

"I sure did." Lax thought as he exited the ship.

He arrived at the port of the island and went towards the city gates. There were a lot of humans going in and out of the city, and as Lax arrived at the gates, he was amazed at what he saw inside, as the technology inside the city was far more advanced than what he saw on Earth.

"Going to other worlds is a pretty exciting experience, huh." Lax muttered to himself as he sneaked past the guards stationed at the gate.
