Chapter 14 - Leviathan [2]

A few hours had already passed since the Sea King's defeat, and all of the soldiers and mercenaries that remained in the battle died.

The water also returned after an hour, filling up the whole lake, and the Leviathan's army started attacking and taking over islands and cities that belonged to humans.

Humanity tried their best to defend against the invasion, but to no avail, as many cities were still lost and people slaughtered.

The humans were in despair, so all the cities that still remained came to an agreement to unite their people to fight against the Siyokoys, as that was the only way they would be able to fight back and defend their cities.

Though almost all of the higher-ups were wondering why the Leviathan still hasn't made her move, they never let their guard down, not even once.

==========

Currently inside the Sea King's palace, many people are busy moving around. They are going in and out of the Sea King's room, while the captain stands guard to watch over him.

The doctors inside the Sea King's room were the best in the city, but even they weren't able to heal the Sea King's hole in his heart. And even though they were able to stop the bleeding, that didn't change the Sea King's constant loss of vitality.

They tried everything they could for the last few minutes until the Sea King finally stopped breathing.

He was dead.

The only rank 6 in Sea King City died just after fighting against the Leviathan.

The fact that the Sea King died wasn't made public as it might cause panic among the people.

And as for where Lax is...

He was currently inside a seafood restaurant, enjoying various kinds of seafood like crabs, shrimp, and squid.

"Haaaa... I'm full and have come to think this is my first sea food I've eaten since I regressed." Lax muttered after finishing his meal and walked out of the restaurant after paying.

"Well then, now that the Sea King has died after fighting the Leviathan, it wasn't even a fight; it was a one-sided beatdown with the Sea King being the one getting beat up. And the soldiers we left behind after running away should be dead by now."

"The Leviathan's army is also invading other cities, and almost half of them have already been conquered. Now I have to think of a way to kill the Leviathan, as that's the only way I'll be able to leave and clear this floor." Lax then went to search for things that could help him in the fight against the Leviathan in [Buy].

"They're really expensive." I currently only have 544 domain points." Lax contemplated which of them to buy, but after considering everything, he chose Lightning Strike because the Leviathan's weakness is lightning, according to what he heard from the captain.

Seal is useful too, but unless there is someone who can heavily injure the Leviathan in those five seconds, it will be useless.

And as for the regressor potion, Lax thought about using it later on, so that's why in the end he chose Lightning Strike, as it can heavily injure the Leviathan, giving him and the people a chance to kill it.

After buying the Lightning Strike, Lax was given a crystal ball with lightning flickering inside it, which he then stored inside his spatial ring.

He walked to the palace after that, using his conceal to hide his presence. After wondering around the palace, he finally found the room where the captain was and walked behind him, then deactivated his concealment.

"!!!"

The captain was startled by Lax's sudden appearance from behind him, but seeing it was Lax, he relaxed and went to talk to him.

"How did you? "Ah, never mind, so why are you here?" The captain asked.

"Well, I'm here because I have just acquired something that can help you kill the Leviathan." Lax answered, then he took out the crystal ball for the captain to see.

"Really? "But, how are you so sure that thing will be able to help us kill the Leviathan?"

"This orb contains a lightning strike comparable to the full power of a rank 7 attack, so you guys just need to create an opening for me to attack; even just a second will be enough."

"So, Captain, are you in?" Lax asked and held his hand out to the captain.

"..." The captain thought about Lax's plan for a while, but in the end, he accepted it.

"I don't know if this thing will really be able to help us kill the Leviathan, but if there is even a chance that it will. I don't care how low it is; as long as the chance is not zero, I'll gladly sacrifice myself to give you an opening to attack the Leviathan." The captain replied with determination in his voice and then shook Lax's outstretched hand.

Then, for the next half day, the captain ordered all the soldiers, including people from other cities, to gather, and the number of them totaled almost 30,000.

And out of all of them, Lax knew only a few thousand would survive the battle with the Leviathan.

==========

While the humans were heading to attack, the Leviathan's army was already waiting for them, all 10,000 of them, including other sea monsters under the Leviathan.

Each of them is strong enough to fight against many humans of the same rank, as monsters are innately stronger than humans.

"It's already been half a day since those humans started to gather up, and I think it's about time for them to arrive." As the Leviathan was thinking about when the humans would arrive, a man arrived and spoke as if he had guessed the Leviathan's thoughts.

"They have arrived, my Queen." The man with a shark head and a buff human body said as he kneeled and bowed down.

"Tell your men to wait for them to attack first, but don't underestimate them just because the Sea King is dead." The Leviathan warned and left her place.

The man with a shark head remained kneeling and only stood up after the Queen left.

"Even though the Sea King is already dead and there's no need to fear the humans anymore, she is still so cautious."

"Is she expecting something unexpected to happen?"

He thought then left to follow the queen.

In the meantime, the humans have arrived, and in front of them, thousands of sea monsters lay, seeing that most of them were stiff, yet they didn't back out as they encouraged themselves.

"Are you all ready!?" The captain shouted.

"YES!"

"So are you afraid?"

"NO!"

"Good, that's the spirit now, everyone. Roll out!" The captain ordered, and the soldiers ran towards the enemy as they screamed.

It was an epic sight to see two armies clashing, but for Lax, now was not the time to be amazed by this scene.

Lax concealed himself as the battle started and watched everything from a distance, waiting for an opportunity to arrive.
