The labyrinth of winding, narrow streets and alleyways in the old Colonial House district served as an unmistakable sign to locals that they had arrived in this aged area, a heritage from the colonial era where merchantmen, soldiers, and even pirates once settled.
The houses, once symbols of grandeur from a bygone era, now stood in various states of disrepair. Rot had taken over the woodwork, and their peeling paint and crumbling facades spoke volumes of neglect. Moss clung to the wrought iron fences, themselves ravaged by time and rust.
The few remaining residents, mostly elderly, moved slowly through the streets, their faces etched with worry, though some found joy in watching their young grandchildren play in front of their homes.
