Resigning to One’s Fate (3)

Adrienne said nothing. If Valerie could see past her cousins' pretense, then it simply affirms that she was beyond foolish not to notice it in her past life. She used to think people hated her for no reason, while Ayla and Sierra always had quite a favorable public impression.

However, now, she knew it wasn't the case. She previously failed to realise that she had voluntarily turned into her cousin's backdrop. When Camilla successfully chased her out of their home, Ayla and Sierra's families had the audacity to take some of her mother's wealth, so there was no way Adrienne would let them off easily this time.

"I'll keep it in mind. Thanks for your concern, Classmate Xia." She answered. "However, it would be better not to voice this kind of opinion in public. I wouldn't want you to get bullied by others because of me."

Valerie merely shrugged before pushing a notebook toward Adrienne.
