The Gu Family's Demise (1)

As Adrienne stood there, staring coldly at her father with indifferent eyes, a wave of anger surged through her. How could someone be so heartless toward their own flesh and blood? She had spent years longing for her father's love and acceptance, only to be met with disappointment and neglect.

Growing up, Adrienne often wondered what it would be like to have a father who cared and took the time to get to know and care for her. But Lewis had always been too preoccupied with work and too absorbed in his ambitions to be bothered by his daughter with the woman he hated most.

Her mother, on the other hand, had become Adrienne's pillar of support. She had filled the void her father had left, providing her with love and guidance when Adrienne needed it the most. Her mother taught her the importance of kindness, compassion, and the value of family.
