The man seated in a wheelchair merely raised a brow at her declaration. His lips then curled into a dashing smile and he agreed without batting an eyelid. However, when the time was almost up, he rushed to convince her to stay in their marriage.

“Madam Qin deserves the best. If it’s the world you desire, I’ll bring it to you on a silver platter. You can have the entire world, but darling, do not forget that while everything belongs to you, you belong to me.”

Adrienne furrowed her brows.

“But you don’t even like me...” She reasoned out, thinking that her husband might have lost his mind.

“No, I didn’t, but I do love you now. In fact, you are the only one I think of these days.”

However, it seemed to her that not only her husband was trying to get her attention but her in-laws as well.

Lennox clenched his jaw. It was quite ruthless for Lewis Jiang to treat his daughter like this. He couldn't imagine how hard it was for Adrienne back then.

"He forced her doctors to declare that Mom was already brain dead and there was no hope for her full recovery. I was devastated when I found out about it. I expected Cayden to side with me, but he didn't. Instead, he attended their wedding ceremony and welcomed Camilla and Elise with open arms. He acted as if Mom's condition didn't have anything to do with him, and he couldn't be bothered by it."

Adrienne lowered her gaze. It made sense to her now why Cayden acted like that in her previous life. They only shared half-blood. She knew that if Hunter were in Cayden's shoes, there was no way he would allow his father to forsake her and their mother.
