Jasmine's Vengeance

Shining rays of the morning sun seeped into the room enveloping the naked figures of two individuals— who were sound asleep nestled in each others' arms— in a pleasant warmth.

Raymond's eyes shot open due to the comfortable feeling as he basked in the morning sunlight. He sighed in contentment as he felt Jasmine's naked body pressed to his side since she had hugged him like a pillow before going to sleep.

Raymond tried to free himself from her grasp carefully so as not to wake her up. But failed miserably when she hugged him closer the more he tried to get off the bed.

"Mmmh…Master~"

Jasmine whispered in her sleep hugging him tighter as if trying to melt into his body.

'Ah! This…'

Raymond thought helplessly as he had no idea what to do. She looked so cute while she slept without a care in the world. He didn't have the heart to wake her up.

Raymond looked outside the window and found that the sun had just risen so he just gave up on waking her and simply stared at her face as she slept peacefully.

He still had time before he could start the day. As he looked at Jasmine, his mind wandered through the events that had happened in the forest.

As far as he knew, that demonic wyvern was clearly Level 9, which was equivalent to or stronger than someone in the Martial Monarch realm.

The fact that he was able to defeat a being such as that so easily really hit home when he thought about it now. He had truly grown stronger. He wasn't a weak little boy with a broken core anymore.

He was even stronger than the current emperor of the FireBorn Empire, even stronger than his father who was a Martial King back when he was alive.

Thinking along those lines Raymond felt a sense of relief wash over him. Now he had enough strength to roam the world as he wished.

'Now I can travel to all the corners of the world without worrying about anything.'

He wasn't boasting when he said that. He was confident in his strength. Even when he killed that wyvern he hadn't used his full strength. Heck, he didn't even know what was the full extent of his strength.

Just by clenching his fist a bit harder, he could feel the space trembling around his hand. He could only guess what kind of horrific effect it would have on the world if he fully unleashed his power.

Raymond shuddered thinking about the consequences of his power going out of control. He reminded himself to never lose his cool and give in to the temptation of destroying everything.

Raymond recalled things he had read with his grandpa about how absolute power tries to corrupt people. He wasn't going to be like one of those people, he would make sure that he wouldn't become like one of those people.

He was better than that, his father hadn't raised him to become a mindless killer. Killing someone just because he could, only makes him lesser than animals. At least they killed for food and survival.

But that didn't mean he was going to watch on as someone tried to harm his people.

No!

He would crush them with his bare hands if they ever did that. The only reason he trained so hard to become stronger was to protect himself and live peacefully. If someone tried to disturb his peace he wasn't going to let them go so easily. He was ready to show them what happens when they mess with him.

Raymond was pulled out of his thoughts as he felt Jasmine wiggling by his side as she woke up. He smiled seeing the dazed look on her face before she regained her senses.

"Good morning, Jasmine."

Raymond greeted her as he sat up on the bed. Jasmine followed as she quickly sat up and placed a chaste kiss on his lips.

"En. Good morning~"

Jasmine smiled sweetly but her smile faltered as she felt the soreness between her legs.

Groaning to herself she tried to walk towards the cupboard to wear something before she started her mana circulation to alleviate the pain.

"Pfft."

Raymond who was curiously watching her let out a muffled laugh seeing her waddling towards the cupboard.

Jasmine halted her steps as she slowly turned around with a blank, almost expressionless look on her face. If Raymond didn't see the shadow cast over her eyes making her look eerie he would have believed if someone said she had turned into a beautiful statue.

-Gulp!

Raymond gulped seeing the dangerous look on her face that threatened him with immense pain if he tried to laugh at her again.

Seeing as her master had understood what she was trying to say, Jasmine turned back and waddled towards the cupboard.

"Pfft."

"Master! Why are you laughing at me?"

Jasmine questioned in an ominous voice.

"I-I am sorry, pfft."

Raymond tried to refrain from laughing but he couldn't control himself when he saw her strange gait— courtesy of their fun time last night.

"Keke~ laugh! Laugh all you want, master."

Jasmine quickly got dressed while she replied to his laugh. If she didn't take revenge for this later then her name wasn't Jasmine.

She knew just the right buttons to push in her master that made him irritated. Raymond was about to learn a lesson from his maid that you shouldn't mess with someone who knows about your weakness.

Raymond sobered up seeing her smile not reaching her eyes. He had a feeling that he had fucked up, but it was already too late for him to do anything about it.

"Oh! What happened, master? Why aren't you laughing? You looked so handsome when you were laughing."

Jasmine spoke sensually as she climbed back on the bed and sat cross-legged.

"Uhm, no, no, no. I am okay. You carry on with your cultivation."

Raymond quickly avoided the topic and bolted towards the bathroom.

-Thud!

Closing the door abruptly, he quickly washed himself and dried himself off with a towel. Raymond saw that Jasmine was still cultivating on the bed when he came back from the bathroom.

He heaved a sigh of relief seeing that she was immersed in cultivation.

'Sigh, she isn't going to do anything for now I guess.'

Raymond thought as relief washed over him. He quickly looked around trying to find his clothes. Even after looking for a while, he didn't find it.

'Strange! I clearly remember putting it here yesterday.'

Raymond rummaged through his bag only to find that all of his clothes were missing except for the ridiculous pink robes he had worn before.

"Jasmine! Where did you hide my clothes?"

Raymond yelled as he quickly realised who was responsible for his missing clothes.

Jasmine opened her eyes slowly and locked her gaze with him.

"Eh? What are you talking about, master? I don't know anything about your clothes."

Jasmine tilted her head to the side cutely like she had no idea what he was talking about.

"Don't lie to me. You clearly hid them because I laughed at you before."

Raymond said accusingly. He was really desperate now. If he didn't find his clothes sooner he would have to wear the blasted pink robes to go outside.

'Damn! Did she give me that robe before knowing full well that I don't like that colour?'

Raymond frantically searched every corner of the room in search of his clothes but he couldn't find them no matter where he looked. He even lifted Jasmine from the bed and flipped the bed to see if it was hidden beneath.

"Jasmine, my dear, please tell me where you hid them."

Raymond pleaded with her helplessly. But Jasmine was ruthless and acted like she had nothing to do with it.

"Master! I am not that petty. I wouldn't hide your clothes just to get even with you."

She went to his bag and took out the pink robes.

"See! There is still something for you to wear. Quickly, put it on, master. Then we can find who stole your things."

Jasmine handed him the robes as she talked with a stoic face. Raymond couldn't tell if she was lying or not.

He gave a resigned sigh and put on the robes while cursing her inside his mind.

'Just you wait, you minx. I am not going to let this one slide.'

It wasn't the first time that they had bickered like that. They used to do this all the time when they were kids.

They were pretty much neck to neck when it came to annoying each other.

"Wow! So handsome~"

Jasmine cooed seeing him all dressed up. Raymond couldn't tell if she was being serious or just mocking him.

"Come, come. Let's go have breakfast."

Jasmine grabbed his arms and dragged him towards the door. Raymond reluctantly followed her lead as she led him towards the ground floor.

As soon as they left the room and reached the ground floor there was a muffled sound of something falling to the ground. If Raymond was here he would have noticed the bundle of clothes—that was floating over the bathroom door almost touching the ceiling— falling to the ground.

*******

All the eyes in the room landed on Raymond just as he reached the ground floor. Even the usually cheerful inn lady looked at him strangely.

'Huh? Isn't that ceremonial dancing robes? These nobles are really weird.'

She thought, looking at Raymond. His handsome face formed a bizarre contrast with the robes he was wearing making him look like a fool.

Raymond's lips twitched in anger every time he was under someone's judging eyes.

'I want to die.'

Raymond groaned in indignation. He didn't make eye contact with anyone as he ate in silence. Even though he looked calm on the outside, a storm was brewing in his chest.

If someone messed with him now, they were going to have one hell of a ride to their afterlife.
