Vivian

"Hee~ speak of the devil! She is here!" Luna shrunk her neck in fear, hoping against hope that Vivian hadn't heard her gossiping. The 20 percent cut she was receiving on mission completion would go up in smoke if she found out.

Raymond turned around and saw an elven beauty entering the guild hall. Her green hair was cut short and barely reached her shoulders. Her big breasts and wide hips were enough to turn heads wherever she went.

Her golden pupils shone with brilliance, captivating the onlookers with just a glance. She was wearing a standard mercenary outfit of a leather blouse and a skirt that had a slit on one of the sides allowing her to move freely.

Her left hand was tightly gripping a black spear and a red silken pouch with black accents was being held in her right hand. Her every step seemed to stir the air inside the room with excitement.

Raymond felt tempted to touch and play with her pointy ears. Sure, he had seen many elves while on the way here, and even Luna was a beauty herself but Raymond had to admit that Vivian was in a league of her own.

He couldn't control himself from imagining how she would react if he touched her ears.

"Luna, my loyal minion! Behold, the spoils of this day's conquest— a trove of Mega Mantis cores!" Vivian banged the pouch on the table. "Before the sun dips below the horizon, I shall return triumphant, all my missions accomplished. Ensure that my deserved reward is ready!"

"Urgh, technically I am your boss." Luna sighed. "Whatever, good luck with finding those dozens of Fire Wolves!" She shouted before taking the pouch and going to the backroom, leaving Raymond and his group alone with Vivian.

She only noticed them now, having ignored humans as usual. She nodded approvingly as she gazed upon the trio of humans, especially at Raymond who was charming enough for her to spare a glance at him.

"Impressive, indeed! It is a rarity to encounter a human with such charisma amidst your kind. To have a Martial King as a minion is indeed a feat worthy of respect!" Her tone irritated Lyla, even more so when she started to call her a minion.

"I am not his minion. I am his wife!" Lyla protested and broke her cold persona by wrapping her hands around Raymond's.

"I see…forgive me for my assumptions. It seems I have erred." She turned to Jasmine and scrutinised her with a piercing gaze.

"Then you must be his minion! To have a Martial King as a wife and a Martial Grandmaster as a Minion is indeed praiseworthy! You have my respect, human!"

"Hey! I am his wife too, not a minion! And what the hell is up with your way of talking?" Jasmine snapped. "It's really grating on my ears. Speak normally!"

"Jasmine, you're kind of my minion. You know, how you swore to become my personal maid?" Raymond whispered in Jasmine's ears.

"Hmph, master, you're a bully!" Jasmine stomped on his feet, feeling betrayed by her master for calling her a minion when she was trying to prove a point with a haughty elf.

"Ah, polygamy, a mark of strength and influence! Your embrace of such a practice confirms my initial belief that you are indeed exceptional among your kind." Vivian nodded sagely as if she could never be wrong. "Though it is a wonder how you manage to achieve such a feat with your nonexistent cultivation!"

"You know it's rude to not introduce yourself and start judging others before knowing anything about them," Raymond narrowed his eyes on Vivian.

"Oh, forgive my manners. I am Vivian, a proud member of the elves, the rulers of WhisperMoon forest!" She declared, tilting her head upwards dramatically and thumping her chest in pride.

"May I have the pleasure of making your acquaintance?"

'What an interesting character!' He thought in his mind. It was refreshing to find someone who was haughty and at the same time humble.

"I am Ray and these are my wives Jasmine and Lyla." Raymond pointed at his girls and introduced them to Vivian.

"It is my pleasure to meet such interesting humans but I must be on my way lest I break my incredible streak of finishing all the missions in a day!"

Vivian nodded to them one last time and ran out of the room before they could stop her.

"Is she gone?" Luna poked her head out of the door gap and asked in a hushed voice.

"Ms. Luna, your supposed Lady is gone." Raymond chuckled, seeing her heaving a sigh of relief and walking out.

"I am sorry for leaving you alone with her! She can be irksome to deal with whenever she is high on victory after completing missions," Luna apologised. "She goes into her overlord persona and starts calling everyone minions and whatnot!"

"It was definitely a dick move from your side to leave me alone with a stranger, that too with someone like her." Raymond countered.

"Sigh~ I didn't have a choice. If I had stayed, she would've started a long story of how she single handedly defeated a horde of magical beasts that were far stronger than her!"

"Believe me, it is better to doze off in boredom than listen to her made up story," Luna replied. "How about this? For saving me from her rant I will sneak out a mission poster and hand it to you tomorrow. You don't have to get up early and be present here."

"Now we're talking!" Raymond relented. "Be sure to keep a high paying mission hidden from her."

"Uhm, that's kind of dangerous, isn't it? You're only in the Martial Minor realm and high paying missions come with high risk." Luna looked at him strangely.

"Unless your wife here is a mercenary, you can't take those missions." She pointed towards Lyla.

"Lyla, can you register as a mercenary? It wouldn't be too much of a problem for you, right?" Raymond asked.

"No problem." Lyla nodded and was handed a form to fill in her details. A small smile appeared on her lips as she mentioned Raymond's name as her husband.

It felt really good to finally have a real identity. Lyla hadn't mentioned that she already had a mercenary badge under a fake name. And she was glad that she hadn't mentioned it.

This badge was going to be far more special because she was registering it with her real name. Even if someone managed to track her down using this information, Lyla realised that she didn't care.

She was a Martial Emperor now and was under the care and protection of the strongest man she had ever known. Anyone looking for trouble would find themselves at the sharper end of her trusty sabre.
