Chapter 7: A Wronged Woman

Lysandra found herself standing in the middle of a bustling city. She looked around and saw towering skyscrapers and flashy billboards advertising various products. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, feeling the fast-paced energy of the city envelop her. When she opened her eyes again, she saw that she was standing in front of a tall building with a large sign that read "Bright Lights Talent Agency."

As she stepped inside, she was greeted by a friendly receptionist who asked for her name and purpose. Lysandra told her that she was an actress and that she had an appointment with the agency's manager. The receptionist checked her name on the list and directed her to the elevator.

As she rode up to the manager's office, Lysandra couldn't help but feel nervous. She had never acted before, but she had the memories and skills of the original owner of the body she possessed. She hoped that she could pull off the act convincingly and accomplish the task that the system had given her.

The manager's office was spacious and decorated with expensive furnishings. A middle-aged man in a suit was sitting behind a large desk, typing on his computer. He looked up when Lysandra entered the room.

"Ah, Miss Smith, welcome," he said, getting up and extending his hand. "I'm Mr. Johnson, the manager of this agency. Please have a seat."

Lysandra sat down, feeling small in the large leather chair. Mr. Johnson looked at her curiously before speaking.

"I've heard a lot about you, Miss Smith. Your reputation precedes you."

Lysandra frowned, not understanding what he was talking about. Mr. Johnson continued.

"I've heard that you've been involved with a high-ranking official and that you're nothing but a gold-digging mistress."

Lysandra felt anger boil inside her. She knew that this was not true and that the original owner of the body had been wrongly accused. She took a deep breath and composed herself before speaking.

"Mr. Johnson, I can assure you that these accusations are false. I'm here to prove my innocence and to clear my name."

Mr. Johnson raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. Lysandra took out a folder from her bag and handed it to him.

"I have here evidence that will prove that I'm not involved with anyone in a romantic sense. I hope you can help me clear my name and find work as an actress."

Mr. Johnson took the folder and started to look through the documents inside. Lysandra felt relieved that she had been able to defend herself and present her case.

After a few minutes of silence, Mr. Johnson looked up and smiled.

"Miss Smith, I'm impressed. You're not only beautiful, but you're also smart and resourceful. I think I can help you find work as an actress. You have the talent and the looks to make it in this industry."

Lysandra felt a wave of relief and gratitude wash over her. She thanked Mr. Johnson and left his office feeling like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

As she walked down the hallway, she saw a familiar face. It was James, her husband from the previous world. He looked at her and smiled.

"Lysandra, what are you doing here?" he asked.

"I'm an actress," she said, smiling back at him.

James looked at her with admiration in his eyes. Lysandra felt a flutter in her heart, realizing that she had developed feelings for him. She wondered if he felt the same way.

As they walked out of the building together, Lysandra felt a sense of hope for the future. She had cleared her name and found a new passion, and she had James by her side
