Theo walked out of the building in a steady step.
'Things are finally starting to look a little better,' he thought, weighing down the pouch in his hand as he reached out the last door. Yet, as he pushed them open and walked out…
The girl from before was waiting for him.
She stood by the building's side, right near the doors, resting her back against the wall.
For but a second, before all the information regarding the dangers this girl represented, Theo looked at her like he would at a normal woman back in his original world.
'Damn…' he called out in his soul.
However annoying this inner female disciple of the sect could be, the elegant white robes that she wore pressed against the curves of her body in just the right way.
She wasn't in the same league when it came to her size compared to some of the higher-maintenance babes that roamed the streets at night. Yet, rather than this extreme and invasive sex appeal, this strange girl oozed a dignified, elegant aura.
Her long, blue hair fell down on her shoulders, gently dancing on the slight gust of the passing wind.
The girl's eyes opened up, revealing how their faint, light blue matched the slightly darker hue of her hair.
"You finished what you were supposed to, I assume," the young woman said. She kept her eyes only half-opened, adding a slight hint of mysterious aura to her face.
There was this cute look of determination on the girl's face, coupled with the slight pretense of her arms crossed over her chest.
'She won't leave me alone, won't she?' Theo thought, once his momentary daze passed.
'But no one said I have any reason to let her bother me!' he decided and let out a small sigh to vent his frustration.
"I'm sorry, senior," Theo said before bending his back and bowing lightly while hiding the pouch from the elder within the insides of his robes. "I now need to prepare for the lesson I will be conducting," he explained.
'Now, you shouldn't be able to bother me any further!' Theo thought, holding back a small, victorious smile.
The girl bit her bottom lip in a show of slight frustration. Coupled with her previous determination, the young man gave out an irresistible vibe.
Theo twitched a little.
'I'm still a man, I guess,' he thought, recognizing and then acknowledging the reaction of his body.
Rather than getting embarrassed by how the girl affected him, he simply accepted it as a fact and moved on.
All because of all the dangers that even just talking with this girl was associated with.
"This will be your first lesson, right?" the girl pointed out in an uncertain voice.
She raised her hand to the height of her shoulder and twirled her blue streaks against her forefinger.
It took only a second for the young woman's face to brighten up, the shyness in her eyes replaced by smug confidence.
"That's right, and so, I really need to pre…" Theo attempted to regain the initiative.
The grasp on the conversation that he felt he had, slipped out of his hands in a single exchange.
"Then, as your senior," the girl started with a huge smile blooming on her lips, "I will oversee your first attempt at teaching others!"
'You are damn cute, I will give you that,' Theo sighed in his soul when he saw the sparks of enthusiasm raining from the girl's eyes.
She was so extremely easy to read… But the same couldn't be said about her intention.
Yet, whatever her reasons, with her face lighted up by such a cheerful smile while the openness of her heart gave her the extreme aura of a certain innocence, if not naivety…
However much Theo wished to deny or at least ignore, she appeared extremely damn cute!
'But whatever force or intend hides behind you, I'm not interested in,' Theo then thought, culling his excitement and awe.
His calculative nature prevailed. Yet, he still had no way of squirming his way out of the girl's grasp.
According to the social standards that Theo learned back at the library, he had no means of denying her without crossing the unspoken code of respect between the ranks.
She was an inner sect cultivator while he was a mere worm from the outer sect, it's very bottom to boot. Right now, he was in no position to refuse any request of hers without an order of an even higher rank.
Theo's time back at the library was extremely beneficial.
He didn't really showcase it up until now, save for some gimmicks regarding the local courtesy, as the situation never called for it.
But right now, he was stepping into the realm of actions propped up by his scientific common sense, rather than the mysticism of the locals.
He learned about how studying cultivation techniques for too long would cause extreme exhaustion.
Theo learned about all the basic elements of local common sense. He now had a basic understanding of the cultivation ranks, the political situation of the sect, history, past wars, merchants' trivia…
All sorts of elements filled up his head, turning into pieces of a complex mosaic of the situation… With results of Theo's analysis often not cooperating with local beliefs.
'I've just freed myself from that damned elder,' Theo thought, taking a deep breath to keep his emotions in check. 'I'm not going to let another dangerous set of prying eyes anywhere near me!'
'In the end, the claim to seek breakthrough by undergoing extensive beatings wouldn't hold in the eyes of a knowledgeable cultivator,' Theo bit his lips.
This was another thing that he learned… Or rather, failed to learn about.
There wasn't a single clue in any of the books that he read that could point him out to anything that could back the claim he made to the elder. And if Theo ever allowed this girl to pry too much, she surely would end up learning about it too!
'Still…' Theo breathed a sigh of exhaustion.
'It's a pity that I didn't reincarnate to a world without any problems or dangers,' he whined for a little before closing his eyes and taking in a deeper breath.
'I can't refuse her.'
This was a simple realization and an unavoidable truth. Something Theo had no other choice but to accept and implement.
"If Senior is willing to offer me such help, then what's left for me but to agree?" Theo then replied, bowing deeply to hide a long sight that escaped from his mouth.
