"Switch?" Narid shook his head. "No, we need to stop."
The four of them were already stopped in place so, in a sense, Narid's wish came to be even before he actually voiced it out.
"Hugo," Narid turned to the youngest of them. "I think you already proved that your gut feeling is correct. So far, we managed to get really far by following your instincts…"
Narid took a short pause before shaking his head and raising his eyes towards the dead part of the forest, only to avert them right away.
After seeing what happened to Kaya, the only third-rank cultivator within the group, he dared not tempt fate.
"But we cannot trust our own senses any longer," Narid finally stated. He threw a quick glance at the girl before shaking his head. "If even Kaya can get lost in her thoughts and nearly step inside whatever this thing is, then what do you think will happen if either of us will try to do the same?"
