Kaya wished to scream her guts out. And to be honest, doing so would hardly turn the situation any worse. 

Because the scouts weren't stupid. 

Sure, it would take a second or two for their eyes to get used to the lack of light… But they were already looking the girl's way. 

'Shit!' 

Now that she was spotted, Kaya had no other choice but to turn tail and run. 

She was no match for the cultivators in front of her. All she could hope for was that the sect elder would either win against them… or stall them long enough for her to get away. 

'Crap!'

Kaya rushed past the trees, the deeper into the forest the better. 

No matter how much better the invaders' scouts were than the girl, there had to be a limit to how far they could follow her through the night-shaded sea of trees. 

And the sect elder had no plans on leaving either of the scouts unoccupied. 

Kaya pushed her body through the first few steps.
