'I never expected I would make this trip four times in the span of less than an entire day…'
Kaya couldn't help but sink into her thoughts. Still, she refused to be distracted by them, constantly keeping her guard up as she searched for any signs of possible threats.
It was a daunting task, to look for dangers in the thickets of greenery that filled the bottom of the forest. Every bush, every trunk of a tree could serve as a hiding spot for people waiting to ambush them.
And what was the worst of it all, was how they had no way of knowing not only when they would be attacked… but also by who.
'I miss the times when everything was that much simpler,' Kaya thought before moving her eyes towards another potential hiding spot that she herself would be happy to put into use.
