Rainbows and Candy

The dark fairy's outburst made Nikolai smile even wider. Although invigorating, the dragoness battling in his arms didn't compare to the wrath in her eyes.

"I did nothing to you, Esmeralda." He casually remarked.

"Oh Nikolai Novikov, You have done so much for me and my people. You know very little and don't know much." Esmeralda said through her teeth.

Rhaziel's brows were furrowed in mild surprise as he watched and listened.

"Nikolai, let go of me!" Ophelia screamed. She was getting tired of these struggles. It wasn't an interest! And she was starving!

He didn't budge and she simply snapped by removing her dagger from her pocket and thrusting it into his stomach.

Nikolai winced and instantly let her go.

She pulled out the dagger, dashed at Esmeralda and freed her wrists and legs from the chains.

Esmeralda stood up, but Nikolai tugged Ophelia backward by pulling her all the way up against the room's wall and firmly pinning her there.
