"Let her go, Nikolai!"
Nikolai cocked his head to the side, his gaze dangerously fixed on the dark fairy in his powerful hold. He watched as tears welled up in her amber eyes, which brought him nothing but joy. He could snap her neck with a single movement.
"If you kill her, you'll regret it." Ophelia mumbled to Nikolai, squeezing her hands and inhaling deeply. She took hesitant steps towards them and noticed Nikolai smirking at the struggling Esmeralda.
Sadistic. She wasn't surprised.
At her words, Nikolai's smile faded, but he didn't look at her. Ophelia was so alarmed by his expressionless face that her clinched fists started to tremble. She didn't want to think of him staring at her in that manner.
She shouted out, "Nikolai," once again, and his strange smile reappeared, brighter than ever.
