Walking into the gorgeous blooming meadow at the mountain's furthest crest, Nikolai was astounded at how surprised he was by the sight. His gaze swept about him, revealing that his body was still having trouble acclimating to daylight and, in particular, the sun.
The wind was perfectly gusty. Not brusque, nor feeble. And they could see birds flying directly overhead.
Glancing at the sun goddess next to him, Nikolai grinned. She had her head cocked, her eyes closed, and was smiling broadly at him.
"I see you're enjoying the view." She opened her eyes, chuckling.
Her smile startled Nikolai, who blinked. His heart was racing, he could swear to it. "I am." He looked away, his face tingling slightly from the heat.
"The blossoms are at their peak. It surprises me that their dread of you keeps them from falling asleep." Ophelia whispered, refocusing his gaze on her.
"Fear?" Nikolai was taken aback.
