Dawn of gods (13)

Ophelia did not bother to imprison the gods. She released them so they could submit their reports.

Despite being aware of the assassination, she truly didn't think they would storm into her castle, but her instincts told her otherwise. Knowing full well that her castle was too sophisticated for the assassins to desire to follow a window or anywhere, she instructed her guards and maids to let the assassins in.

Overall, she remained quite enraged.

Seated on the cushion in one of the castle's cozy little sitting rooms, she balled her fists. "We just have a few minutes more."

Nikolai just stared. "You should have let me finish them off."

Ophelia glared at him. "I do not want blood to be spilled unnecessarily."

Nikolai scowled. Back then, the scent of blood served as a draw. They were aware of the blood moon gods' predilection for blood, of course. He folded his arms across his torso. "Ridiculous."
