Pain's eyes flew open and a deep snarl escaped his throat.

Sasha turned to face the guardian beast, wondering why he seemed so angry when he woke up out of nowhere.

Lev, however, got to his feet and bounded out of the room. He slammed his fist into the wall, creating a deep crack and a heavy thud. Ferocious flares emerged in his eyes, and he was panting heavily.
