Forty Three

She had expected the stares that would be directed to her to have reduced significantly but no; everyone stared at her shamelessly like the previous day and also pointed their fingers at her. Amelia sighed; it seems the world hardly forgets things quickly, and they believe what they want to believe in.

 

"Welcome, Ames," Christie was standing at the door with a broad smile, and before Amelia could enter the office, she was already dragging her off in the opposite direction. It didn't help that Amelia was wearing a heeled shoe that she wasn't used to yet, and it made it look like Christie was pulling her.

 

"What's going on? Why are you pulling me?" She asked, glancing back to see Florence and Mimi at the door staring at them. "Did I offend their royal majesties again?"
