"For starters, you're going to come home with me. Then we'll figure out the rest. But I swear to you, Piper Pendragon" - I leaned away and once again took her face into my hands - "you are not alone in this, and you never will be."
Her smile was tenuous, and her lips trembled slightly, but she nodded. "Thank you." She licked her lips, then blew out a breath. "I only hope my sisters will be okay." Her mouth tightened into a frown. "I never should've shifted in front of everyone like that."
"Hey." I peered into her eyes, not allowing her to look away or doubt herself a second longer than she already had. "You did what needed to be done. If you hadn't, me and a lot of other vampires would be dead right now."
