I stood inside Gregory's suite, my bag clutched in both hands in front of me. I'd been in here earlier, though I'd been surrounded by a lot of other people. Now, just he and I were here, and the silence was stifling.
"You don't have to stand there all night," he said with a trace of humor.
"Right." I nodded. "Where should I put my stuff?"
"That depends on where you'd like to sleep tonight." He stood behind the sofa and gripped the back. "You can stay in my room, with me, or you're welcome to stay in one of the guest rooms."
My heart slammed hard against my ribs, and I fought to catch my breath. "Is this some sort of test?" I raised a brow, waiting.
He tilted his head. "You still don't trust me, do you?" His tone was full of hurt and confusion. "I'm not testing you, Sophie." He moved around the sofa and closed the distance between us. Gently, he took my bag from me. "I have no ulterior motives, and whatever you decide is fine with me. Promise." He flashed me a dazzling grin.
