Political Play

At the palace of Vermont in Paris,

" Sorry i couldn't attend your nephew's funeral yesterday.. May his soul rest in peace.." Arndt Rhodes said as he was presently sat infront of a table as on the opposite side Pierre Vermont was present.

" I shall handle the Rebels.." Pierre Vermont spoke straightforwardly rather than beating the bush to find a chance to say what he wanted to say.

" Pierre being sharp as always and wonderful to know that.." Arndt replied whilst smiling.

" But, In return we have to make a preposition.." Pierre told Arndt.

" Oho, it was obvious that you wouldn't do something like this without having another motive behind it.. well what is it.. what do you need.." Arndt asked Pierre.

" You already know what i need.. " Pierre replied to Arndt.

" Ho, what's that.." Arndt asked Pierre.

" Halt your plans to kill my nephews and niece, Or else I'll simply let the Rebels pass through our lands to yours..." Pierre replied with a straight face.

" That's a threat eh, being bold i see... I accept because its not like i actually plan to kill your kiddos.." Arndt replied with a sarcastic tone.

" Alphonso was supposed to be at the capital, somehow he was present at the northern Vermont military base and killed by the rebels.." Pierre asked

" My my, what a coincidence as i did meet him in the capital as he told me he was planning to go directly back to Paris.." Arndt yet again replies with his sarcastic tone.

" Enough with the act, I know everything you are plotting Arndt, Your ambitions on uniting France under your flags won't happen... You can play politics and political murders in the capital but don't bring it here.. your family has already murdered a lot of my kin secretly to avoid any retaliation..... " Pierre replied but with a slightly angered tone but he did try to keep his composure as he didn't wanted to lash out.

" If you have any problems then bring the evidence to the emperor and well you'll receive the justice you are asking for then.." Arndt said while staring at the eyes of Pierre whilst smiling since there was no proofs nor can Vermont can do anything against Rhodes in the capital when the Emperor is itself a puppet of Rhodes.

" Arndt, You have send many to kill us and end our family... But don't make me send one to wipe your family because i won't have to send another.." Pierre replied as he too stared deep into the eyes of Arndt as it was clear that they didn't like eachother.

And the room was enveloped in silence for 5 minutes straight as they were having a staring contest.

" Hmm, I accept your preposition and well whose the next head of the family since Alphonso died... Perhaps will you call Marcell home from the south since he is handling some Persian incursions.." Arndt asked Pierre to break away the silence..

" You can leave Arndt, Those are Vermont family and we will announce it soon.." Pierre replied to Arndt.

" It is sad, that your wife ran away with someone to just kill herself realising the man she ran away with was a liar who was using here.... Or else you would have had a direct heir... Do you plan to remarry i mean your only 34 now.." Arndt said in a sarcastic manner..

" ... " Pierre remained silent as he stared at the eyes of Arndt as he simply wanted that man to leave the City.

" ... " Arndt stared back while he bit his lips in a sexual way but it was supposedly a joke to anger Pierre more.

" The way you staring makes me think you wish to marry me but Pierre, I prefer a woman.. so sorry, i have to reject you..." Arndt stood up and walked out but before he exited the room, he turned around as giving the air a kiss and winked at him.

" ... " Pierre was having a disgusted expression as seeing a topless muscular man with a perfect chiselled muscular body just looking back and acting like something they are not is infact a scary disgusting thing.

Meanwhile Arndt walked out of the palace as entering the carriage as his Advisors were present inside.

" How did it go My Lord.." One of the Advisors asked Arndt.

" Hmm, He will focus on the rebels with his full force... " Arndt replied as he looked out through the window of the carriage as he was looking at Paris.

" Using Alphonso was a wonderful idea.." One of the Advisors said.

" Yes, telling him that his uncle was waiting for him at the base which made he stay and wait there till the arrival of the rebels was a great plan.." One of the Advisors said.

" How did you know that the rebels would attack the base my lord.." One of the Advisors asked Arndt.

" Hmm, there was an Intel as our scouts found there scouts watching the base from afar, well we positioned many scouts around many locations and one of them found movement towards the base hence why we forced Alphonso to divert his path towards Paris towards the base.." Arndt explained to answer the Advisors doubts.

" I see, but now Pierre has no choice but to act on his feelings to get revenge.." One of the Advisors said.

" No, He is definitely not doing it for revenge.." Arndt commented on the said words.

" Then my lord, why would he do it.." One of the Advisors asked Arndt.

" It is simple, The Rebels attacked his base, the base belonging to the Vermonts inside their territory.." Arndt said.

" So, what does it mean My Lord..." One of the Advisors asked.

" It is clear the Rebels are targeting Paris as they took out a threat on North which could hold any northern invasion heading towards the city.. he has no choice but to handle the rebels or else they'll only bring trouble for him and his territory..." Arndt answered.

" Does it mean Vermont will be able to defeat the rebels.." One of the Advisors asked.

" Well it'll take time for them to muster an army as they did loose the northern base which could have been a launch pad to attack the Winchester Factory which is at the coast towards the north from Paris.. But who knows, even if Vermont wins they'll loose a lot of their good Soldiers and leave their lands weakened as that gives us a chance to attack them and unite France under our flag but even if they fail we can defeat the rebels who had suffered a lot of loses against the Vermont Army.. or navy.." Arndt Explained.

Meanwhile back on the Vermont residence at Paris,

" My Lord, they've left the City.." The butler told Pierre.

" Nuisance left finally.. " Pierre said while sighing.

Peirre took the Vermont family head position at the age of 14 as he was exposed to politics at a young which made him understand the world more.

He wasn't a politician but a skilled businessman who kept the Vermont coffers filled every day as be also kept a influential political presence though all that was done through the flow of money which Vermonts controlled.

At the age of 20 he married who he loved but fate was cruel to him as his spouse ended up leaving him after 3 years.

He didn't marry again but rather helped his nephews and nieces to grow as he took take care of them while handling the family business.

His brother and his sister in law died the same way as his parents as they were all killed on their way by bandits but in reality it was Rhodes who did it to end the Vermont Household from the shadows.

Vermonts were strong in Paris and areas they held control so Rhodes usually used the Imperial Government to invite the family just to kill them after they leave their lands where they are vulnerable.

It's not that the Vermonts doesn't have an escort but a sudden request in presence on the Imperial court means no time to call for an escort as they have to rush.

Peirre on the other hand only travels with his escort which is the largest as he rarely travels towards the Heartlands of the Empire.

Instead he uses his Navy for diplomatic meetings with other nations as he is saver on other nations than his own.

He was tall as Arndt as 6'3 feet tall as with a thin body which looks a bit bulky in his formal suit as he has a beautiful silky black hair with blue eyes, He looks charming but then again he rarely smiles and socialize as there was no one else to trust except family.

His family was his nephew Marcell and his niece Yves Vermont, as his nephew who is 21 was currently present near the black sea as he was head of the military their whom prevents the persian incursion over the Empire.

While his niece Yves whose 25 was traveling as she was a diplomat for the Empire as she has travelled all over the east from Murim to bharatapuri as currently it's rumoured she was in northern Africa in talks with the pharaoh.

Vermonts were an obstacle for the Rhodes in uniting the lands of France under one house as Rhodes wishes to revive the French Empire but Vermont House always and always stood in the path.

Hence why the Rhodes kill from the shadows and Use political plays to deal with their rivals in france.

Meanwhile, The military base was rebuilt as it came under a new 65th regiment who were stationed their as from their many raids were orchestrated across the lands controlled by both Rhodes and Vermonts.

" Alphonso died... My brother may your soul rest in peace.." Marcell said as he was present on a battlefield as his right leg was placed at-top a beheaded of a Persian soldier as he crushed the head right after he finished his words as now he shall return to help his uncle and get revenge.
